michaelct
I am having a hard time trying to find doctors that are knowledgeable about Tourette Syndrome for my daughter (8 years old). I have spent months searching through forums looking for doctor recommendations and there are absolutly 0. I even created a website www.ihavetics.com that makes it very easy for people to leave recommendations or warnings about doctors they have been to. Please if you have been to a doctor for Tourette Syndrome, go to the site to the doctors section and fill it out. I had to make it where you have to register because of spam. If you can think of a way to make it easier to fill out please email me at michael@ihavetics.com. All you have to do is go to the doctors link on the top menu and choose your state after you login and at the bottom of the page there will be a add new record link. Just click on that and it is pretty much self explanatory. I want to make this perfectly clear. I am not posting this for any financial gain or recognition whatsoever. This has cost me alot of time and money hosting this site due to the fact that I am not very good at building websites at all. I have google links and a donate button on the home page which has not made a cent so far but every cent I do make will go to the Tourette Syndrome Association. (I have to believe a cure is possible for my daughter.) If you go to the site you will see her on the home page. I know there must be thousands of parents like me with the same problems of finding doctors. I have left a doctor review of one of the doctors that I have been to, just to show you what it looks like. I have been to one other doctor recently that I will post shortly. Imagine how many parents you could help by doing this. And please try to spread this post, I am going to post it on all the forums I can find about Tourette Syndrome. Also note to moderator. If you could sticky this or make it stand out some how I will gladly add a link to your website on my home page. Just email me at michael@ihavetics.com and let me know the link and anchor text you would like and I will do it right away. My daugher has had symptoms for about 2 years now and it is very hard for me to see her suffer, and I am trying to do all I can. Please comments and suggestions are needed. faith
Hi Michaelect, I am wondering if you have read over our forum and have considered trying (or have tried) any of the natural treatments and strategies we discuss here? Are you interested only in doctors who are giving medications to treat this, or are you hoping for doctors who are trying to look at the root cause? THAT would be what most of us here would hope for. Thank you for posting that info, I am sure there are some people who would like to use your site to locate doctors. Faith
michaelct
We took her to a hollistic doctor for awhile but that really had no effect and was kind of expensive. She has been on the feingold diet for about a year. We give her Multivitamin and B6 every day. She also takes epson salt baths about 3 times a week. We took her for allergy testing, got rid of all stuffed animals, got the hepa filter and the pillow and sheets. I ordered the bontech vitamins but that is way to many pills for her. I am going to take them being that I also have tourette syndrome too, just to see if they help. I think I should reread all the post here though. When we first saw that she had tourette, i read every post on every forum, went to every site, even bought that stop tics now pdf, and went into information overload and just got overwhelmed and didnt give each thing a long enough try. kim
Michaelct, I visited your site, and my first thought, was what a beautiful little girl, you have! My second thought was, she has those dark circles (or maybe it's just a shadow in the pic?), that I see on so many children these days, my youngest son included. Those dark circles, are a big indicator with him, that something is getting out of whack with him again. They were diminished greatly, once we started the Bontech vitamins. We also use fish oil, digestive enzymes, and quite a few other supplements. I can't get the full recommended dose of the Bontech vits. in him, per day either. We get in as many as possible, and I give him some chewables, that are not as "pure" (colors/sweetners) as I would like, but he has a limited diet, and I am choosing the lesser of two evils, I guess. I hope you do find time to read more here. We are all working toward finding the best treatments for our individual kids.
Chemar
Hello Mike yes, having a good resource for physicians would be good but sadly we here find that most of them regurgitate the standard and archaic info on TS and offer nothing but drugs. Here at Latitudes/ACN we follow an alternative approach We do have a sticky thread here for Finding Medical Help also, have you read Sheila's book on natural ways to treat tics and TS? Here is more info http://www.latitudes.org/book.html all the best Cheri
