Cum Passus Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 I was poking around yesterday and found a web sight about certain house plants are beneficial to remove toxins form the air. Phiodendrons, spider plants, aloe vera, english ivy, golden pothos, and boston fern. A book called... How to Grow Fresh Air 50 Houseplants That Purify Your Home or Office. I don't know what I was on, but if you plug in the title of the book it will give you info on it. Just wanted to share. C.P.
patty Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 Faith, Just want to add that one who has mold sensitivities may reconsider having house plants because the moisture in the soil can cause mold to grow. One of the ways to get cleaner air may be getting an air purifier that is not ionic but a true HEPA. Patty
Cum Passus Posted March 26, 2007 Author Report Posted March 26, 2007 DARN! DARN! DARN! There is always something isn't there. I do not have a green thumb, but anyone know if rocks/sand would keep plants alive. C.P.
faith Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 Ha! Well, my bamboo type plant is in a pot with some kind of pebbles, no dirt. You just water it the same. You know those type of lucky bamboo plants you see in supermarket floral/plant section? Faith
patty Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 C.P. A thought just popped in my head, "Well intention comes with unintended consequence"!! I guess that's the way balance itself out. Patty
