Guest
For those of you using compounding pharmacies and those that are not please take action on this. Compounding pharmacies provide many options for us such as chelation agents, mb12 shots, amino acids/supplement compounding, preservative free forms of shots, etc. I received this from the Chelatingkids2 Yahoo forum. If you go to web address below you can send an email to the senators & local house representative. Well the goverment is about to take your right to use these medications away. Please contact your Senator and ask him to oppose the Kennedy legislation. This law will basically take away your access to compounded medications. For more info contact your compounding pharmacy or vist iacprx.org We need everyones effort on this one!!!!! faith
Carolyn, I don't really know what a compounding pharmacy is--I just get the methylb from the docs office. Is that what this person is referring to? If it'll help the cause, I'll certainly help if I can, but if you could find more info on what to do, that would be good. Guest
Faith, I don't know whether your mb12 is compounded, but I wasn't aware that some docs sale mb12 vials directly out of their offices. A compounding pharmacy is a pharmacy that tailors prescriptions to the needs of their patients. For example, if a patient is allergic/sensitive to dyes, preservatives, etc. that are in certain medications. Compounding pharmacies provide dye & preservative free medications for those persons. They make specific dosages if needed. Also like my niece with cerebral palsy and many other things needs everything in liquids so they could compound medications & supplements for her in liquids. Some patients have blood work done for vitamin deficiencies and want an all in one supplement for what the testing showed as deficient. Those are just some examples of what compounding pharmacies provide. For more detailed information here's a link: http://www.iacprx.org/site/PageServer?page..._is_Compounding If you would like to email a letter to your senators/house representatives all you have to do is go to this site & follow the directions: https://secure2.convio.net/iacprx/site/Advo...tion&id=149 Here's a page that tells more about it. https://secure2.convio.net/iacprx/site/Advo...mp;id=149#Write Hope that helps. Chemar
*sigh* another attempt to whittle away at freedom to heal naturally and effectively! compounding pharmacies provide a very valuable and often life saving function for many patients (and for our pets too!) why on earth would they now want to restrict this service
kim
Message posted on another group. I couldn't get the link provided to work, but this one did for me http://www.iacprx.org/site/PageServer?pagename=Action_Alert This message was started by Dr. McCandless, one of the high-profile DAN! Doctors. On behalf of Michael (my son), I am BEGGING everyone to PLEASE take the 2 minutes to fill out the form and send it in. Before we gave Michael MB12 injections (which are methylcobalimin B-12 - simply a subcutaneous delivery of a B vitamin because his body cannot process it orally / thru the stomach) , experts thought that he may be mentally retarded as well as on the Autistic Spectrum. If they take away our ability to give him these injections he will lose his social skills, his ability to read and write and will once again become "non-functional" . Currently he is 4, he is reading at kindergarten / first gade level, typing on the computer and going to a regular pre-school with a shadow. We have a ways to go but he is doing great. The thought of 'losing" him for a second time and not having access to the simple vitamins that allow him to function is too much to bear. Please, please, please send this in. And please pass it along to everyone that you know. Thank you, Jennifer (and Michael) -----Original Message----- From: csb-autism-rx@ yahoogroups. com [mailto:csb-autism-rx@ yahoogroups. com] On Behalf Of JAQUELYN MCCANDLESS Dear Listmates: THIS IS POLITICAL ACTION WE ABSOLUTELY MUST TAKE - this bill proposed by Kennedy et al stands to be the most serious threat yet to the ability of doctors and parents of autistic children to continue to obtain MB-12 (nasal or injections), LDN, detoxification agents such as DMSA and DMPS, secretrin, transdermals such as NAC, TTFD, ALA, GSH), etc etc. (Not to mention bio-identical natural hormone replacement and many other extremely important health items that have to be compounded). This is clearly written to benefit pharmaceutical companies, which is also behind the move to restrict or eliminate many of our vitamin-nutrient compounds. We have to become activists to protect our children; it would be devastating to not be able to get many of these compounds that are helping kids to an unprecedented degree now. PLEASE go to http://www.iacprx. org/site/ PageServer? pagename= Action_Alert and send in your protest to this bill. This is not the time to be passive or assume others will take care of it. I have inside information that this is very likely to happen unless they get overwhelming protest from the American public, and even then we may not be able to prevail, but we must try. Thank you! p.s. I know I just asked you to go buy Discovery, but that request pales beside the importance of this one. Dr. JM
