patty
I notice when my son is waxing, his triggers are TV, computer, reading to him, changing places, excitement.... However, when he is weaning (he still has tic, but infrequent to almost unnoticeable), the triggers that bother him when he is waxing do not apply. For example, he would watch TV without tics or very little tics, unless he over does it, like for 2/3 hours. Is this typical? Patty
ad_ccl
Our son has PANDAS - when he is fighting an illness, triggers are more obvious, even the LCD can be a problem if he is having some eye tics - so we try to reduce tv, and be extra careful with his diet. If he is well he can eat pizza etc so problem, if he has a cold, pizza may cause tics. Think of your sons immune system like a bucket - if it is empty and he is well he can manage a little bit of different triggers without the bucket spilling over, if he is sick - (or waxing) his bucket it already filling up so any extra trigger exposure may cause a spill. Again, my son has PANDAS but to me it seems tics are often related to the immune system - as so many here find improvement with tics when they do things to help the immune system - build it up with vitamins, or remove food allergens, etc. Just my thoughts and experience with our son. The bucket theory is Doris Rapps from her book Is this my Child. I like to go back to it, it is simple but makes a lot of sense, she also says that if a child has an infection - like with my son, that it is like putting a hole in the side of the bucket so things spill out the side even if the bucket is not full to the top. Have you read that book? It was recommended to me and it was a good read.

patty
I read "Our Toxic World" by Doris Rapp, and just bought "Is this your child" during X'mas. I think it is time to start reading it. Thx for the explanation. It makes alot of sense. However, my son is not sick right now. When my son started waxing yesterday, he did say he has been blowing his nose more yesterday. I thought it was due to the sleepover party we had with his cousins. Instead of sleeping in his own room with the air purifer. He slept in the family room where we have carpet. Today, his nose seems fine again. I gave him an epsom bath after breakfast, and now he is watching LCD TV w/o much nodds or vocal. Patty
