Cum Passus
Hi, I was wondering if anyone who likes to get their nutrients through natural sources have tried Aloe Vera Jel. My super market sells the leaves and I wanted to know why anyone would want to eat it. Other then the wonderful skin problems it helps it also is a natural detox. I was really intrested it the amino acids, the 8 essentials are in Aloe Vera. The best Aloe plant is the barbadensis. What do you all think? I think my son would love to have more of the good stuff in a liquid then another pill. Thanks to all. C.P.
patty
C.P. How is your son doing? Is he better from taking Natural Calm? He is probably into his 3rd or 4th week. Please let me know how he is doing. I also order it and am waiting for it to come. I agree with you in regard trying to get most nutrients via food. I personally feel it is safer and easier for the body to digest it. If food is not enough, then i would add the supplements. Perhaps next week, i will post a survey in regard how many out there is doing better with none or minimal supplements. So far, the only thing we are doing is Epsom bath and seeing some good results. Of course i have been modifying our diet to get the maximum nutrients. We are not in the clear yet. But my son is doing at least 90 - 95% better. In short, we have done: chiropractic, craniolsacrol, accupuncture, chinese medicine, NAET and homeopathic detox. Will post more when i get a chance. quan_daniel
Patty, Becareful of chinese herbs in general. They are not cleaned and can be contaminated with pesticide. I am chinese so I know pretty much there is no FDA governing body in China. The herbs are usually sundried outside with kids urinating nearby..sorry to gross people out. Please do not think supplement is a bad thing. It can be a bad thing when your body can not absorb it or does not need it. The problem with our food such as vegetable is the soil it grows in. It lacks mineral since the 1900. Our soil is over fertilized with chemical. So when a source recommeding a fish oil that has been distilled from mercury I tend to like that over a fish that has PCP, MERCURY,etc.. I believe someone tried juicing. Her user name was marie I think. That might help. Thanks
Cum Passus
Patty, Well I was nervously waiting for the full moon, and tonight he is doing good. I noticed Monday that he started to repeat O.K. O.K. but he did not yell it. When he got home from school today he had a vocal ticcing spell but he calmed down around 5:00. I did give him the Natural Calm at 4:30 so I don't know if it was that or he just needed to release after school. I will be watching to see how he is during a new moon. I am so slow in introducing new supplements. I still have not found a multi yet, but the lady at health store in my town is ordering the liquid vit. by the Natural Calm so I can read what is in it. I couldn't pull that info up on his web sight. She said she has been selling out of the Natural Calm mag so she was sure she would sell it if it had something in it my son couldn't have. I did get the Natural Calm for adults because all it had in it was mag citrate. So I was hopeful the liquid multi will not have anything strange. (wish us luck) I am going to start the calcium this weekend. Thanks, Daniel, for the heads up on the herbs... Just my luck my son would probably have an allergy to the herbs. C.P. patty
Daniel, Thx for the warning in regard to Chinese herbs. I think it is important to be aware of the quality of the herbs, but not be shy away from Chinese medicine as it has done wonders for my son's asthma. Since my son was young, he has always had asthma after a cold, so our rountine medicine is albuterol and sometimes steriod. But since my son started seeing this chinese doctor, he has not have to use the western medication. My son's chinese doctor is an East/West practioner, so everything he prescribes to my son is in pill form. Becasue today soil is so oversoiled and filled with pesticide, i believe it is important to eat organic as much as possible to obtain more nutrients. Please don't get me wrong. I have no problem supplementing if that is what is lacking and cannot get it via food source. Since my son is so sensitive, just about everything he took suggested by his ND casued more tics ( it caused new one and also increase frequency ), so i am very hestitant to give him anything unless i have to. Also, he is doing pretty good, with him in school right now, i really don't want to rock the boat. In regard to giving supplements, it is difficult to get quality vitamin, such as fish oil that is mercury free and then there is the many different source of calcium, magnesium,.... BTW, have you tried Coromega for Omega 3. It is mercury free and it tastes like yummy orange yogurt. My kids likes it. Patty
quan_daniel
Patty, I was on chinese herbs for many years. I do know those pills. One of my relative was hooked on it, meaning addicted to it. It turns out one of the ingredient not listed was close to morphine. Again FDA is not stringent enough in pills that marked as supplement and are imported from another country. I have not used that Omega 3 you talked about. If it is related to fish oil then my son can not take it. It cause him to be hyperactive and possibly tic. He is currently taking Flax oil. My daughter has no tics is taking Eye-Q chewable from England. What is amazing about that chewable fishoil is that there are intensive studies that are done on school for kids with adhd and add. If you believe their website then it talks about the distilling process it goes through to create these fish oil. daniel
