I've been reading through the forums to find out the answer to my question but don't see a specific answer so I thought I would just post my question.

My daughter has tourettes and tics.. She's had them for about 3 years now.

She has many sometimes and other time few to none.

We did great over the summer just on 300mg of mag and 50mg B complex and extra 50mg of B6 with a multi vitamin.. and then also a calcium chew made for kids that was 500mg.

however that isn't working to well anymore.

Lately she has a tic that is hurting her.

She will clench all the muscles in her body tight.. Very tight, constantly all day. So after a while of this her entire body aches. She is so unhappy over it that I feel the need to try and find something else that will help.

After reading the forums I've been trying the epsom salt baths (which help short term) and recently ordered the Natural Calm to try. (still waiting for it to be delivered) Crossing my fingers that it will help... BUT.....

If that doesn't work I am going to give Bonnie's vitamins a try.

I emailed and asked her which plan I should get for my daughter.

They recommended the following two items:

TS-PLUS CONTROL

TS-PLUS EPA/DHA

I was just curious about something and maybe those of you who use her plan can help me out. (FINALLY MY QUESTION!! lol)

How many total pills do you use per day? I know it depends on weight etc but just an estimate.

(daughter is 63 lbs)

Do you take them just once a day or many throughout the day?

From what I read it seems like you take many vitamin pills several times, but that didn't seem right?

My daughter HATES swallowing the pills so I am not sure if I could get her to do this plan if it does require so many pills.

Thanks for any insight those of you who take them can give me. OR any new suggestions of things I haven't tried.

hi

we have never used Bonnie's supplements tho I know many here do with very good results

however, it does involve swallowing many pills a day

also, a word of caution

altho some people do fine with EPA/DHA fishoil supplements, many do tic more on fishoil but not on flaxseed oil

Mommy2three,

For a child 35 to 65 lbs. Bonnie's suggested useage chart shows 10-14 capsules, for the TS Plus Control.

On the EPA/DHA it says, for individuals of any weight using TS PLUS CONTROL, 1 to 2 softgels 2 times per day is suggested with meals.

We do, split them up.

Thank you for the info.

I have a hard time getting my daughter to swallow 3 capsules a day.

I don't think I could ever get her to take 14 capsules plus a day.

Hopefully the natural calm will be good.

mommy2three,

I do better on individual supplements than Bonnie's all in one. I take more individual capsules than what would be needed on her TS Plus program. So doing Bonnie's vitamins doesn't necessarily mean that your daughter would have more to take. She may have less and if it works well for her, it's a lot easier since it's an all in one program. It would of course depend on how many and what individual supplements you decide to give her.

Chemar's mentioned before on the forums that taking the drink with a straw can be easier when trying to get supplements down. Have you tried that?

Also here are two websites with several great suggestions for getting your child to take supplements. Maybe you could even pull the capsules apart? It's been a long time since I've taken Bonnie's supplements so I don't rember if they're ones that can be pulled apart.
