Hi two questions :

1- Can a child who has had sever head trauma in pre-school age (falling off the third floor of a building ! OUCH) and is now facing writing difficulty have a Learning Disability diagnosis? Or the head trauma entails a kind of neurologic diagnosis? what procedure should be taken regarding the mentioned child?

2-what exactlt do the professionals do when faced with a suspected LD case?

If you look into dyslexia for example you will see there are three categories, one of them being due to exactly what you described...head and body trauma. The cause would not necessarily effect a LD diagnosis. If the school is aware of writing difficulties that is most helpful, also dealing with a Pediatrician and or psychiatrist could help determine a diagnosis. Often you can get guidance through a local social services/family services office as well.

I wish you the best,

I would also suggest that you have the child evaluated for post concussion syndrome which can result from even mild head trauma and can cause cognitive dysfunction which could result in the LD
