Survey-eating organic food

Just wondering how many people are eating organic food and have any noticeable difference. I have read that organic fruit & vegetable have higher antioxidant.

I eat organic only off the top 12 most contaminated list, & hardly ever buy organic from the least 12 contaminated list. This blog link explains better & also links to a downloadable pocket guide:

It's so much about $$ for us, so if the organic is same price or close, I'll go organic. I rarely buy organic frozen veggies, though. Also, if a fruit has edible skin, I'll usually do organic.

Now, to the question of whether it has helped? I can't really say. But I'm doing it less for my TS & more for long-term health and to avoid cancer. I did so many things at the same time, it's hard to know exactly what made a noticeable difference.

Hi patty

we eat only organic and have for some years now

It is a lifestyle choice for us as we totally avoid pesticides and chemicals wherever possible

not only do I think it helps with general health, but the organic stuff just tastes better IMHO

Thx Julie for the info and the great link. I am always looking for ways to save $ and eating well. We tried eating mostly organic but it is expensive, now i know which fruit & vegetable to eat organic and which one i can get by nonorganic.

Also, I started doing price comparison at different grocery stores and I find that I am not spending that much more to eat organic. I also stock up on certain staple items when it is on sale.

I eat organic food most of the time. I don't know that I notice a difference in tics from the organic food itself, but instead from the preservative and food coloring free food. I find that going organic is also easier in general when eliminating food items because theres so many more alternative choices than at wal-mart for example. I save money by making my own food rather than buying mixes if possible.

Another reason that I buy organic is because they're pesticide free. Growing up I was exposed to a lot of pesticides from living on a farm. So I'm trying to stay away from pesticides as much as possible.

I find that large health food stores such as Whole Foods & Wild Oats are so much cheaper and better than smaller health food stores. We only have small health food stores here, but I really hope they get a Whole Foods soon for the above reasons. I do get to Whole Foods once a month, but I can't buy a month's supply of veggies & fruits when I go.
