orthomolecular
This site says that green stools is not usually something to be concerned about. http://ibdcrohns.about.com/cs/otherdiseases/a/greenstool.htm Does your son take any taurine? Taurine helps with bile production. Sometimes a change in color or pale colored stools can be related to bile production, or lack of it. Sometimes GI pain may indicate a taurine insufficiency. This site mentions green stools and the role bile may play. http://www.drhull.com/EncyMaster/S/stool_green.html http://www.enzymestuff.com/rtstools.htm If it persist you may talk to your pediatrician about it. Chemar
Hi efgh the most frequent cause of green stools is lotsa green food and as ortho has said, bile can green the stool I honestly havent ever heard of zinc causing green stools, tho I do know that iron can as long as there is no diarrhea or stomach discomfort it is likely just related to bile, or something he ate that had either green or purple in it, and shouldnt be cause for alarm........however if it continues past a few days, it may be a good idea just to check with the doc re excessive bile maybe?? Ronnas
I would also think food is the culprit...fruit roll-ups etc cause green stools.
