strep gut bacteria

I had heard so much about kefir lately, I decided to try it when I saw it at Trader Joe's. I noticed after drinking most of the bottle, though, that it had a streptococcus strain listed as one of the "friendly" bacteria. Is this something that I shouldn't ingest with my TS? Honestly, I never presented as a classic PANDAS case, so I haven't done much research on that aspect at all. So, this might be a really dumb question, but I have come to associate "strep" with "stay-away-from-it" in my mind.

If you search Three-lac..and strep together you get the same result...

Three-lac is probiotics and yet contains the strep bacteria u talked about..

but if you goto the website..they claim there are different strains of strep..

Go figure..

Search Three-lac in this website and u will find how one poster claims Three-lac helped with Yeast..

I am sure it is okay..

..but they contain different types of beneficial bacteria. Yogurt contains transient beneficial bacteria that keep the digestive system clean and provide food for the friendly bacteria that reside there. But kefir can actually colonize the intestinal tract, a feat that yogurt cannot match.

 

Kefir contains several major strains of friendly bacteria not commonly found in yogurt, Lactobacillus Caucasus, Leuconostoc, Acetobacter species, and Streptococcus species.

 

Interesting..alternate eating btw yogurt and kefir can be ideal..sounds like the Threelac formula..

My son has PANDAS and we have to stay away from probiotics with the "good strep bacteria"...my son reacts to them...

 

As an aside I ordered Threelac for my son and I took it myself before trying it on my son...I had an immediate, horrible, horrible reaction to it. Seriously, if what happened to me was the "die-off" effect I would rather have yeast...though I have a friend who had great results with it for her daughter.
