kim
Does this make any sense to anyone? kim
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html...750C0A96E958260 Alarmed by Meningitis, Rhode Island Tries Mass Inoculation A successful vaccine for Haemophilus influenza, once the primary cause of bacterial meningitis, was introduced in 1990 and is now part of routine childhood immunizations. The current vaccine for meningococcal meningitis is less effective. It does not protect those most likely to become infected, children under age 2, nor is it effective against a strain which causes almost half of infections. It also has a high failure rate of 15 to 20 percent, and the shots are only effective for three years. Because the vaccine's effectiveness is limited, the Centers for Disease Control does not recommend its widespread, routine use. Yet within hours of the Department of Health's Recommendation and the death of the North Providence boy, a sense of panic gripped Rhode Island, with many of its one million residents clamoring for the vaccine. Laurensmom
Keep in mind that flu vaccinations contain an weakened/inactivated flu virus. If the flu can increase bouts of tics (mercury aside) than the vaccine can do so as well (supposedly to a lesser extent.) The Flu-mist vaccine does not contain mercury, if that is your main concern. http://www.sunherald.com/mld/sunherald/liv...ss/15682357.htm Also, my daughter who has TS, has never had a vaccination. At least not to my knowledge. They were administering HepB at the time she was born, but I refused the shot. Not sure if the hospital complied or not, frankly as they did not comply with other requests I made.
suschi
Anyone out there know if flu shot may be linked to tics? Since there is a link between vaccination and tics. patty Hi,I was searching for something else and came across this forum, and this particular thread. Just wanted to add our experience, my 4th child had open heart surgery at 6 weeks of age to repair two holes in his heart and his underdeveloped right lung was removed. We stopped all vaccines for him because they appeared to cause more problems than they were preventing. He turns 8 next month and is doing far better since we stopped the shots!
