philamom Posted May 25, 2011 Report Posted May 25, 2011 My daughter has been really complaining of tingling in her arms and legs lately. Any suggestions for some relief? Do heating pads or cold compresses help?
sptcmom Posted May 26, 2011 Report Posted May 26, 2011 No, its a neurological not muscular issue. What does help is motrin plus stretching plus drainage massage- deep tugging massaging towards the feet top to bottom and hands back on top. Don't go back and forth- do it like milking a cow for lack of a better example. The motrin will reduce interstitial tissue swelling and stretching opens up the nerve compartments for the nerves to get decompressed and relaxed. You can google good streches for the areas involved. Don't generally start stretching. If it is one sided then it helps to fool the brain into distributing the load by manually tapping the non affected side and tingle it so to speak. This will reduce the tingling on the affected side if its due to an electronic malfunction in the nerve centers due to Lyme. With the packs, warm will give more of a comfort than cold but just that. philamom Posted May 26, 2011 Author Report Posted May 26, 2011 Thanks Jodie. I will try the combo. So far Advil has done nothing for relief. She's begging for me to help her. It's constant right now in both legs and arms.
philamom Posted May 31, 2011 Author Report Posted May 31, 2011 This symptom is increasing daily (or at least the severity). Can someone tell me what vitamins may support nerve damage? Is it the B's? Thx
Familyof5 Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Are you doing anything for detoxing? My arm and leg tingling were most severe before my detox regimine began. The longer I detoxed, the tingling sensations virtually went away.

I recently added in Parsley (detox) and Vitamin D, but she got extremely emotional (crying every day) and not wanting to finish school so I stopped. Will try again in two weeks when she is done school. What detox did you use to help with the tingling/numbness?

Vit b12 is the main. I use upto 2500 mcg (micro not milli grams)daily spray sublingual and Metabolic synergy as a multi has enough bcomplex without overburden. I mean B6 is very neuro supportive but you have to watch and not exceed 1.3 mgs a day and B3 Niacin is excellent for Lymeies too (the regular Niacin not the no flush kind). DS had tingling, numbness and bug crawling sensations during a herx and before we knew it was lyme too not just Pandas. Went away eventually. To us it was somewhat autoimmune and somewhat neuromuscular. I have aslo used bentonite clay powder (there is a childrens bentonite clay powder for bath which wont clog up your pipes, cant remember the name) mask brush on on arms and neck, let it dry to pull out toxins and put him in detox bath after that in the past- after IVig last May. It worked well and we did it for a week every other day. The tingling usually originates from the spinal nerves or from the shoulder area brachial plexus area so don't forget to treat those areas as well. What about the drainage supplements I had suggested 4 u- Renelix etc. ART check is best but still in a fix you could Try those at 5 drops bid for DD. Renelix is red and has a bit of a taste so mix it in some juice if you need to. Spagyrically produced homeopthic meds are stable and can be mixed. You don't have to follow the long list of precautions like you have to with classical homeopathy meds. so, Renelix for kidneys, Iteres is full body lymph drainage, Sydetox is full body detox are all helpful to start at 5 drops bid and even tid for the first few days until symptoms subside. lemon water is excellent for increasing flow and alkalinity. Warm washcloth around the neck for a few minutes helps increase blood flow and that can he helpful as well. Let me know how things are Again, this info is from my experience. Jodie
philamom Posted June 3, 2011 Author Report Posted June 3, 2011 Jodie- Yes, this is one of her predominant symptoms right now. I have to run out right now but will post some questions later. Hopefully, you can check back this evening. Melinda
philamom Posted June 3, 2011 Author Report Posted June 3, 2011 Jodie- my daughter has just begun recently, in the last four months, talking to me more about her symptoms. She holds a lot in, trying her hardest not to feel different. She gets furious with me if I talk about her symptoms or treatments with other people. Anyway, she informed me that she had this tingling for a while now (at least a year) off and on , but never at this level of severity. And it now seems to be constant. In mid April, I took her off Minocin for 10 days and off Tindamax for 2 weekends. When I started her back on the Tindamax, I just did Saturday for 2 more weekends. So I guess the increase in tingling could be part of a herx. It def. got worse when I started her back up on these meds. I recently added some additional detox (parsley) and vit D but it made her extremely emotional. Then she really cried about the symptom (and others) most of the day. She didn't want to finish the school year. Since going back down to our usual regime, she is tolerating her symptoms better. I don't know why she seems to react to everything! I will try again in two weeks when she is finished with school.I just want her to end on a good note. Her hoarding (especially fear of losing something) is also very severe now...that's been going on since Febuary. Regarding the drainage supplements- I don't have what you mentioned. I have Septonsil & Ricura...but they are for sinus/respiratory symptoms...correct? I'm going to order the Metabolic Synergy vitamin today. I have a great tasting B-12 chewable (I think SF Mom uses) that I take. I will start that as well once school is out. Does anyone else's child also show an increase in symptoms with vitamins? I can see with abx & detox supps, but with vitamins? Why is that? Your other suggestions are great. I will look into the clay bath. She fights me on baths/showers but maybe I can turn it into a spa bath once a week. Heck, maybe I'll join her! Thank you Jodie!
