Shadowtails - sorry for the backslide. I am wondering when you changed meds and if you contacted Dr. B about the backslide? He is usually pretty good about problem solving these things. Do you use an antifungal? Probiotics help to keep good bacteria in the gut, but they do not remove yeast. You may need an antifungal and a probiotic. You may also need a different antibiotic. I would let him know you are having problems. It may take him a couple days to get back to you, but it would be worth it. I'm kicking myself in the butt right now wishing I would have called him sooner. I did'nt call right away because I was hoping that it was a short backslide and then progression like last time. He is off on Fridays so I will be calling at 9am sharp tomarro. All she is on are: prednisone and azithromycin.

An easy way to look for yeast is to simply ould even add probiotic powder to it to boost it up. Why are you thinking yeast? Actually, I don't know that she has yeast, but was thinking it would be a good idea to get probiotics into her after 3 months of abx.

She hates yogurt and is sick of taking meds.. But she is taking all the ones that the doc prescribed. I will look into the good belly juice.

She woke up today with good eye color and mood. But the evening I can see it all comming back. This time I hurried up and gave her an ibuphrofin.

I gave dd melatonin before and gave her one last night. Have any of you ever noticed more pronounced symptoms the next day after giving melatonin? just covering all my basis. also, what exactly is Inositol? Do you use it? Is is know to have any drug interactions with the abx?

Meds were changed and now I feel like we have been throtteled back in to september. Am trying to get her out of the house to get her bloodwork tht Dr.B had ordered. And what abx was the child on previously? any hexing involved? Also, to those that go to the big specialist, if you pursued lyme; did you have to ask for testing from them or did you just go to another doctor and test and then tell your specialist? I'm asking about the lyme cause my dd for quite awhile has been saying that her bones hurt if she does too much. But you should know th at because of her ocd she spent months pretty much on the couch just watching tv. she has really gained weight and is very much out of shape cause ocd won't let her go outside of our house to walk around or play with her friends... If she is afraid of all blankets, maybe you coud get her a snugglie to wear like jammies? That way she does'nt need a blanket. My dds' ocd keeps making her switch blankets from time to time (and pillows). but this winter, I bought her jammies with the feet (they make them big enough for me), but they turned out to be too hot for her.

Wow. I was going to post similar except my dd was on Omnicef and the doc switched her to azith and put her on another taper. 3 days later and well this weekend was not good at all. I thought I was almost back to the begining of all this. Scared me bad. Today was a bit better, and eyes had color for part of the day. Tonight is another story. I'm just hoping that it is the meds working and that soon she will be at least back to where she was.. Sorry I'm not any help. Just letting you know that I'm there with you. Have you tried giving him ibuprofin?

That is great news. Did you ask him about the the Cunningham test ? Or did he bring it up? just curious.

I never asked Dr.B about IVIG, but he has told me twice that he did'nt think my dd would require IVIG. My impression of him is that he uses it as a last resort. Good luck and please let us know how your visit goes.

What I'm saying is that, since Pandas has started, her eyes are usually dialated. But in the last month, they are not dialated as often. When they are not dialated, her O.D.D. symptoms are much more noticeable. What I'm wondering is if your childs o.d.d. is always noticable, or more noticeable during a flare or at some other time? Hope you feel better. I've been down with a bad cold since the weekend. After I re-read it, sure does sound like I'm on medicine! lol

My dd has beautifull green eyes. We do'nt get to see them often. Her father, teacher and I have all noticed that when her color seems to be completely there, that her O.D.D. kicks in more than usual. It is so weird because I know that my child is truly with me at that moment (hours or day ), but then it kicks in which was never part of her personality previously. just wondering

You guys are great! Thank you so much. I read all these posts, but often am not sure that I completely understand. Thank you for clearing a bunch of stuff up for me. I do plan on requestioning about the myco-p, and asking to try another antibiotic first. Then I may research local lyme or dan doctors in the area, expecially if I don't see any more progress. At least this is great food for thought.

. Some people just go straight to a lyme doctor for help to see if the antibiotics they use can get rid of the infection and remove the PANDAS symptoms so they do not have to do IVIG. Some people say that kids who do well with prednisone probably do not have lyme... but then others have had kids who did well with prednisone and DID end up having lyme. Are you saying ppl go to Lyme doctors even if they don't think thier children have lyme? Or do they suspect lyme, then go and get further testing? plz bare with me...lol Just want to make sure I have this straight.

She did wonderfull on the pred. and that has lasted but she has not moved forward since. and like I said, has managed to add some new ocd. I thought he would try another antibiotic also. I am planning on asking about that and the myco p. But according to her lab work the IGG is high but the IGM is low at 258. When we showed up, he was able to find strep right up her nose, and her titers were high. That particular step is gone but she could still have it else where. What bothered me is that DH IGG is also a low High, but his IGM is extreemly low at 78 But my IGG is 2.16 and my IGM is 653 which is negative but a high negative. and my DH DNASE -B anitbody is even higher than my DD. He was able to show us that DD immune system is very deficient. Only a couple markers make antibodies and the ones that do are very low. All these words, doctors, tests, I'm just trying to make more sense of it to myself. It can be so confusing. Expecially when you hear of others with different antibiotics etc. I don't think she has lyme. All the test said is Lyme Disease, EIA w/REFL WB less than .91 negative.
