  1. Are your WB results IgG or IgM? I agree with Elizabeth....you need a good LLMD.
  2. Justine -- I've been told that S. Boulardii is especially effective with regard to diarrhea, so maybe if you cut back on that, your child would have fewer issues regarding constipation? Yes, Florastor can constipate you. When we started on it, our LLMD said it can do that and to increase Vit C and magnesium to help offset it. As stated above, maybe cut back a bit on the Florator but continue the regular probiotics and lots of water.
  3. Does it matter what brand of activated charcoal? We have been using Nature's Way brand, but I don't think it would really matter what brand you use. Great! I'm also looking for a brand of milk thistle to give my dd9. Any recommendations--I think you use it? Thanks again! We were using Full Circle which comes in 350 mg capsules and I gave it to him once a day, but the store was out of it for a long time so I started using Jarrow brand but its only 150 mg so I am giving twice a day, but I don't think the brand really matters. I try to stick with one brand as often as possible though.
  4. Does it matter what brand of activated charcoal? We have been using Nature's Way brand, but I don't think it would really matter what brand you use.
  5. Unfortunately, Doxy does NOT work for strep. BUT....if Myco P is an issue, it will cover that.
  6. I have also heard/read HIV and Mycoplasma pneumonia can.
  7. Is your high for IgG or IgM? We are in the same boat with our son. He is positive both IgM and IgG. His IgM is 2.94 and it should be below .76 His IgG is .66 and it should be less than .09 He also has no symtpoms of cough, fever or any pneumonia type symptoms. This one has me stumped as well. My son is allergic to zithromax so we are considering doxy.
  8. Good article......I wonder if that applies to doxycycline as well?
  9. Thanks for the info. My son does not have any acute symptoms. He does have motor tics and ANXIETY. I wonder if this could be causing his super high anxiety?? Does anyone have any experience with Myco P and anxiety?
  10. Does anyone know what symptoms Myco P can cause? When I look online, I can only find general symptoms that my son doesn't seem to have.
  11. Pain can appear anywhere after a tick bite and knee pain is one of the more common areas for pain. If the tick had to be removed and wasn't able to just be brushed off, then it sounds to me like it was embedded.
  12. I have run into this as well with Dr's. My first CD57 test was a 44 and I didn't feel that bad. My second was at 67 and I felt horrible. (My 1st test was CDC positive though LabCorp and 7 months later showing more bands through Igenex) I also know of someone who has a CD57 number of 16 and he feels just fine and a friend that has Lyme that tested in the 100's and she is very sick and has a CDC positive Western Blot through LabCorp. Some Dr's firmly believe in it but I also know of others that completely don't agree with it or use it for diagnosis. All of these Dr's are LLMD's. As it seems like everything with Lyme, it's hard to know what to think!
  13. I would send the whole file so he can look at complete history. He may not need it all, but better to have it all if needed than not have it if needed. My son and I were both on Abx for testing for Lyme and co-infections. I wouldn't stop abx. Good luck at your appt!
  14. Is he constipated? I know this sounds strange but I was told that 90% of painful urination in boys is due to constipation and in my son's case, it was. The Dr referred to constipation as "having rabbit pellets instead of baseball bats" can lead to painful urination. Yeast can also cause burning, but typically there would be some redness at the top.
  15. Thank you all for sharing information with me.....it is GREATLY appreciated. I feel as if I'm really fumbling here trying to find the best plan for our son. We are limited on antibiotics for him as he is allergic to zithromax - has anyone used doxycycline? Bat-Sheva Myllys - my heart goes out to you and your daughter. Thank you for sharing your story and your positive outlook. I hope we ALL can find the answers to this horrible puzzle our children our suffering with.
  16. So, the Myco P could be causing the PITAND type behavior, instead of Myco P being the catalyst by itself? My son has Lyme, and is highly positive for Myco P on IGM and we suspected PANDAS, (based on behavioral symptoms and Scarlet Fever history) but he has never had a positive strep test, so I was wondering if the Myco P could be triggering all of this by itself in addition to Lyme and PANDAS/PITAND may not even be the issue? I'm sorry if these sound like ridiculous questions, but I really don't know and am just trying to figure out what to do next. Thank you for your reply.
  17. Does mycoplasma pneumonia have a lot of the same symptoms as PANDAS? Our Dr was surprised when I asked for the test, and I have read on here that the test should be done, but I don't fully understand. Do most kids have this in addition to PANDAS or can it be the myco that is creating PANDAS symptoms or both?? Thanks for any thoughts......
  18. We use 4 cups in the bathtub. It's a garden tub so it's a little bigger than a regular tub. I also add 32 oz of peroxide to the bathwater as its supposed to open up the pores more and helps with detoxing.
  19. Thanks for the responses! Has anyone here tried doxycycline? My son is 9.
  20. I didn't find it under general side effects either. I did read about how Augmentin can effect the liver and all of my son's(9) liver enzyme tests came back perfect but he was still having issues that pointed towards either gallbladder or liver. As soon as we cut his dose back, his side pain went away and so did the pale colored stools. BUT.....all of his other symptoms came raging back just a couple days after cutting back on the Augmentin. One website I read (which I can't find now) said that the symptoms will go away when you remove Augmentin. Here is a quote from a website that I came across: Ampicillin antibiotics, like amoxicillin, have the potential to cause liver dysfunction, putting people who take Augmentin XR Sr at risk for developing liver-related side effects, explains RxList.com. Such symptoms include yellowing of your skin or eyes and clay-colored stools. In most cases, liver dysfunction caused by Augmentin is reversible and causes no permanent damage. Approximately one out of every four million people who takes the drug dies from liver dysfunction. 21. Biaxin I think Biaxin is zithromax family unfortunately.
  22. Thank you SO much for your replies. Does anyone know of any other antibiotics that work for this? My son is allergic to zithromax, and I think that's really going to limit our options. Did your Dr's address the myco before Lyme?
  23. Our GP just called to tell me my son's Mycoplasma Pneumonia test came back positive both IGM and IGG. Can someone PLEASE help me understand this? My son has been on high dose Augmentin and it really helped, but we recently had to cut back due to it having an effect on his gallbladder. Within just a couple of days his symptoms are all back. I have read that mycoplasma can cause facial tics, anxiety, eye pain etc. My Dr that called with results ran the test strictly bc I begged him to after someone on here mentioned that I should get him tested, but he really doesn't know a lot about it. He said 5 days of abx and it should be gone but somehow I seriously doubt that. I also posted on the Lyme forum bc I wasn't sure which one to post on as he has Lyme as well. ANY advice would be very much appreciated - thank you!

  25. I have found the best thing for a herx is to really focus on detox. Warm epsom salt baths, lemon water, and activated charcoal really seem to help. Different LLMD's will give different opinions on pulling off meds.
