In preparing for our upcoming visit with Dr. J, should I send him my daughter's entire file (including PANDAS info and Psychiatric evals) since she was very young, or just the recent labs (Igenex,Quest) and info. from past 18 months, when this latest episode begun?

How many pills does that equal out to a day? Do your boys swallow them or do you open and mix them? How are your boys making out with their recent strep?

I don't know actually, it was the titer, do you know what that would be? Our neurologist didn't suggest an antiviral but our Dan! did. Susan Reference range for Herpesvirus 6 IGG is <1:10 (my daugher was 1:80)

My dd9 is in the category of always having normal ASO/D-NASE titers, but her recent blood test shows an increase in ASO (but still normal). Is this just due to exposure, not infection? ASO= Nov-17, Dec-17, August-48 D-NASE= Nov-60, Dec-120, August-60

SF Mom- In regards to the abxs, probiotic, and Epicor & Oil of Oregeno--how do you space them apart?

I'm trying my hardest to give my dd epsom baths. She is very oppositional these days, so it's tough. How much epsom salt per bath should you use? Also, I think someone once mentioned a homemade cream remedy? That would be great when she resisting.

My dd had elevated HHV6 virus. She was treated for 6 months with antivirals and I think it really helped her to get that virus cleared. Susan Susan- Was it IgM or IgG? I don't know why the integrative doctor didn't suggest an antiviral.

Susan- Is this a probiotic and antifungal?

I'm sorry...but in my opinion, I would not trust Quest testing for lyme and lyme co-infections...there is a lot of false negatives. Can you possibly run Igenex? I think having your mom over to help is a great idea. We actually now have a bedroom for my mom. Hang in there!

Step- this is what I find so frustrating...both her integrative doctor and immunologist dismissed it. Did your DAN doctor help you with this? How is your son doing with his recent strep? Thanks, Melinda

Justine- I'm so sorry this is happening--what does the lyme doctor suggest for when a fever/illness happens and the child backslides? Or do you think this is herxing? Melinda

Ambers Mommy- I feel the same way--very overwhelmed. You are not alone. There are so many times I wish my daughter and I would just up and disappear. But I keep reminding myself she will get better! I also have a husband who travels a lot for work (2 weeks a month). It's very hard and draining. Try and reach out to all who will support you. My daughter had two IVIG's with Dr. B and then received a positive lyme result. We see an llmd next week and have decided to do one more IVIG to help her fight any illnesses (including strep) she will get in the fall. It's when she usually catches everything. I'm terrified also! What is the thing your daughter does when she walks? My daughter used to do a knee bend after every forth step...I would tell people she is exercising. Hang in there...and yes, at times I also don't like my daughter, even resent her...but then I tell myself it's not her fault. It will get better...hang in there. Hugs!

Thanks for the encouragement yesterday! Well-Rested and back to fighting for results! I just received a copy of stool tests that an integrative doctor ordered on my daughter. He said they were fine. It shows a result of alha haemolytic Streptococcus 4+ bacteria. The doctor knows my daughter has PANDAS. Is this significant? It also revealed no growth of beneficial bacteria: lactobacillus species and escherichia coli but 3+ with bifidobacterium. The doctor also ran a food sensitivity test which came back with a lot of foods. At this time I'm hesitant of dietary changes because my daughter doesn't eat period. If I eliminate the foods suggested, all she would eat would be fruits. She is already underweight and some ocd food issues. He put her on a yeast care supplement but after 14 days I stopped it due to an increase in behaviors. Those behaviors have settled somewhat. Thanks!
