  1. Positive by Igenex for Bb. Positive for co-infections (RMSF) thru Quest & (Bartonella) Specialty Lab.
  2. I saw a doctor yesterday that said my daughter's +HLA DR4 needs to be seriously addressed for any healing to occur. He couldn't believe all the elevated IGG's of other infections she is harboring. I think anyone with Lyme should be tested for HLA's to see if they will have a treatment resisant case. I wish I would have known this information in September. It comes down to what SFmom and others have been saying all along...detox and drainge - very, very important! I hope to check my HLA & MSH this week. I wake up at night every hour extremely thirsty and have a drink at the edge of my bedside. I bet my MSH will be low. I start a product next week that will help thin my blood to assist in killing the Bb. Lyme likes thick blood. Thanks again LLM! Now get some sleep!
  3. I give the Tindamax at dinner (6:00 pm) and then a large dose of probiotics before bedtime (9:00 pm).
  4. My daughter had a tick bite in 2006 (age 4) and is still coming up positive through different labs. Her llmd feels she may have been bitten by another tick that went unnoticed, due to some bands still present and current symptoms. She has a lot of elevated IGG's for other various infections as well.
  5. Yes, Yes, Yes! We even have slight flare ups with teeth cleaning.
  6. Fantastic!!! We give tindamax at dinner with other abxs.
  7. I can't find it now, but once read an article recommending this rosemary shampoo/conditioner to deter ticks (and lice) near the scalp. www.fairytaleshaircare.com
  8. Good one. Method brand sells Eucalyptus softener sheets. Also remember reading rosemary is helpful as a repellant too. edit: it's either Method brand or Seventh Generation.
  9. kmom & mati's mom- uggh! Please keep us posted on what you find out kmom. SFmom- we had our lawn sprayed yesterday and 2 hours later we had torrential downpours with tornado action. I hope some of it penetrated before being washed away. We also put Daminik tick tubes around the perimeter of property. We are using Avon Bug Guard plus Expedition spray & lotion. I also purchased a pair of shorts and 2 t-shirts with insect shield included.
  10. My daughter (soon to be 10 and 60lbs) is on Zithromax 250mg, Amox 1000mg & Minocin 100mg daily. She also takes Tindamax on weekends.
  11. Not familiar with his practice just with him personally. So don't really know. Usually ART docs do ART at 1st visit. maybe you need to speak to Lisa to specify you need ART to begin with. Thanks...I'll give a quick call today. So glad to hear your son is doing well and off antibiotics!!
  12. Thank you both. sptcmom- since you are familiar with his practice, do you think he will administer the ART on the initial vist? Or more likely to schedule a follow-up? I was going to inquire with the office, but haven't had the time...tomorrow's no better.
  13. I have an appointment on Friday with an alternative health doctor for my own health issues. I'm also hoping he can help my family with some detox/drainage solutions. He does ART testing, as well as conventional testing. Can someone explain how ART is performed? I'm not sure if it will be done this week, but would like to better informed. Thanks!
  14. Were they covered by your insurance? Did you run the labs on entire family or just your son?
  15. What kind of setbacks did the kids have? symptoms? And if you can share, do you know what HLA's are mold susceptible? Between my three children they had: headaches, memory loss, concentraion and focus issues, frequent urination, motor tics, vocal tics, ADD, OCD, night terrors, sleep walking, cold uticaria, tinnitus, floaters in vision, pains in legs, gluten intolerance, sinus infections, chronic ear infections, fatigue, chronic bloody noses, bed wetting, asthmatic (only slightly--just one kid), strange sensation to have to "pop" their ears, joint pain, teeth grinding, chronic black circles under eyes and chronic puffiness under their eyes. There is probably more that I am forgetting. All are so much better since moving out of the moldy house. But we still struggle with acute exposures that cause setbacks and tics seem to be the hardest symptoms to get rid of....but still, they are better. Take a look at this website which shows clearly the HLAs and what they can be susceptible to: http://www.survivingmold.com/diagnosis/lab-tests Sorry I don't remember, but did you and your family ever test positive for lyme and/or co-infections? Were you dealing with both lyme/mold or just misdiagnosed with lyme? thx Well, I was the first to get ill and I initially went down the lyme path. I was ready to be treated by him, he diagnosed me with lyme (he had the prescription in his hand for antibiotics) when I told him about the suspected mold in my office. He pulled the prescription back and told me that I needed to go see Dr. Shoemaker. Lyme and mold are so similar in symptoms. The remaining members of my family all became obviously ill over the next two or so years, that there was no doubt it was mold. Pretty unlikely that all of us were bitten by a tic. Good that you figured it out. Thanks.
  16. We believe that our basement was flooded before we purchased the house. DH has removed a lot of mold downstairs. In one room, he had to remove some drywall for something else and found mold behind it. Removed the bottom 3-ft of drywall/insulation around the entire room. In another room with plastic flooring there was black mold between layers of it. He also removed all the carpeting and put in engineered bamboo flooring. This is why we are thinking the entire house may have been cross-contaminated because he may not have done the remediation properly. By cross-contaminated, do you mean it got into the heating/air system? How should the remediation been done? I'm thinking about cutting a square in my drywall and pulling up some carpet to check. Our basement was finished 14 years ago by a friend. I'm not so sure of the quality of his work. I do know he used plastic sheets at places within the drywall. And today, I woke up and went in to our family room and there is a big water balloon in my wall. There is damage to my sloped ceiling which caused a cascade down the wall forming a big ol water balloon. Popped it with a bucket beneath. It's been raining hard here. And of course, husband's away.
  17. I would like to run the Shoemaker Panel and printed the Physician Order Sheet off the website. I have a DAN doctor that will order the labs, but I don't think he is familar with him. On the sheet, there is labs to be done with Quest, Labcorp, and a Jewish lab (done thru Quest in Baltimore). Do I just have him write out the different scripts? thx

  19. Its a different type of chlamydia (Chlamydia Pneumoniae). My daughter's C. Pneumoniae IGG was 1:128...should be <1:64
  20. That's what I was thinking. Thanks again!
  21. Michael Good timing. Filter change is on my list this week. I will hold off and check online. Thanks for sharing Michael! Michael, is there a difference between MERV-11 and MERV 12 or 13?
  22. I feel so much for you. We've had very similar experiences with contamination as well as the talks of dying, wishing she weren't alive. She even asked my dh to kill her. I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I'm wondering about the betonite clay and when you are giving it to her relative to the abx. I've never used the betonite clay. It's supposed to help with detox, right? Is it a binding agent, like charcoal? If it is, then I believe it should not be given close in time to the abx. Our LLMD said not to give the charcoal close in time to the abx or it would just negate the effects of the abx, by binding to them and eliminating the abx from the body. Maybe this is a question to ask your do (or maybe others here can chime in.) Kara I am giving her clay right after school, minimum of 2 hours before dinner time abx. It is like charcoal. Last night at 4AM when I woke worrying, worrying, (like you all have I'm sure) I had the thought that I also would like to die along with her...my husband can adequately finish the job of raising our older two... then I tried to pray for awhile, then woke this morning with some sanity back. Sorry so morbid, the rain in NE is not helping the mood! Thanks for all the support everyone! Laura Laura- please hang in there. At times I felt like that as well. She WILL get better! Great support system here!!
  23. SF Mom- I would like to run the Shoemaker panel. Is it a bunch of different tests from different labs? I need to bring the information to our DAN doctor, but wondering if I will need to bring my daughter to different labs? thx
  24. Thank you. On another post I started, an article mentions HLA DR2 & HLA DR4 as a predisposing factor. Since we're positive for HLA DR4, I would appreciate hearing what you find.
