  1. Doesn't Dr.K have some other criteria that one needs to fit??? Just not understanding how you would know if it were TS or pandas and so then how would you know what to try and not try?? Being that the two are so similar along with tic-order as well.
  2. laster99.....don't be fooled by the titers, everyone has a different baseline so from my understanding its hard to know if someone's are elevated or not. Buster had a GREAT Post about this. If I can find it (I have to run) I will paste in here...if not I am sure someone else will. If you think he fits the symptoms I would suggest a call to Dr. K. He does phoe consults. Most from what I understand will start with a steroid burst...if the child improves dramatically...he will diagnose as Pandas. This is what I understand anyhow. He is in Chicago. I wish I had some more time but I have guests from out of town and all 8 of them are HUNGRY!!!!!!! I am sure the others will chime in on Dr. K and the titers. I wish you the best in getting to the bottom of it. We are sort of in the same boat with trying to dertermine if we should look into Pandas more.
  3. I would agree to check the titers/ASO. You never know. I am sure there are alot of undiagnosed Pandas out there. I am not saying your son has it....its just nice to rule out as you travel the road so to speak. He could have been exposed to illness/strep. My daughter has NO symptoms to speak of when she has strep....its very scary. You can also but at home kits to test for strep. It might be a false negative so the culture would probably be best but on the other hand I like to have them on hand. Good luck to you and I wish you speedy recovery in getting them back down
  4. I really am becoming to like this vitamin. It was recommended for my daughter and I have been taking it with her (I always try everything with her) Its VERY nutrient dense http://www.naturessunshine.com/us/products...x?stocknum=1099 Also they have a health anyalizer tool.....you click the boxes ont he symptoms/conditions/issues you are conderned about and then it tells you what to take as far as supplements/vitamins: http://www.naturessunshine.com/us/products...yzer/index.aspx This may help you in deciding what to give and also with what will help??? Thought I would pass on. Goodluck to you
  5. OKay this is EXACTLY where I am confused and stuck on.....From what I have read on here...If Pandas is not treated the damage can turn to be unreversible. So is being on antibiotics considered the treatment to prevent this or would it be the IVIG. Can the antibiotics act like a mask to symptoms as do meds?????? How in the world can someone make a decision and feel its the best???? I wish this Pandas research would come on strong, I wish that Pandas was just as recognized by doctors everywhere just like strep is. This is so frustrating!!!!! UGH!!!!!!
  6. Pat, The drops are actually called "Prevention". They told me and also recommended to get all the things from Nature's Sunshine. I got them all there (on line). As far as her tics go...I wouldn't be able to know at this point. My daughter got SO BAD in May we decided to go on topamax until we could get this all sorted out and do so more research. The topamax took away her tics/ocd and the sensory issue went away as well. Considering the very low dose she is on (for her body weight) no one can really tell us why it made everything go away and I am still not sure myself. My plan is to take her off the topamax after this six week program and see what happens. As far as the result....its read from the pictures. A dry blood sample is them magnifiying your blood drops and reading them. Hope I answered all your questions..... Her regimen is what I posted above to guy123...is that what you meant? I might add that what really stuck on me after this test was the fact that it showed heavy metal concentration on the right side of her brain and her EEG showed discharges from this exact spot. We are looking forward to seeing if this is indeed a BIG piece of the puzzle.
  7. Guy123, Be careful with the detox. All your bodies eliminative channels HAVE to be functioning correctly first. If done too quickly or the wrong way the metal could deposit into other parts of your body. My daughter is 40 lbs and 6 years old. Her dry blood analysis came back with some kind of fungus in her digestive tract that is preventing her from absorbing the carbohydrates. We were told to do a 6 week program. The first 4 weeks focus on getting everything working in her body and the last 2 weeks are the days where the detox come in. Here is the last part of her report I copied from my post to give you an idea of how other issues need to be corrected first and as I already mentioned the last 2 weeks is when we will deal with the metal extraction: I will be recommending a 3 part program for this child, first to build the nutritional core of her body so that she can move through the process of extracting the metals with more efficiency, though she is actually doing a pretty good job of it -- she needs additional help with binding the metals that are outside the perimeter of the drops. Second I would recommend that the embedded viral matter be resolved in the respiratory tract before metal extraction, so this eliminative pathway is clear, and there isn’t this type of stressor in the body, thereby strengthening immune function. Then we will be ready to go into the metal extraction program, which is where the majority of the work will take place and the most consistency must occur in regard to being sure she gets the nutrients she needs to facilitate this. Timely blood follow-up blood samples must be sent in during this program so that we can tweak her program when needed, as the needs of her body changes. RECOMMENDATIONS: Before breakfast (15-20 minutes before, if possible) AND Before Dinner time: 1 Probiotic 11 (to populate the digestive tract with beneficial bacteria) 1 Proactazyme Plus Enzyme (to assist with the digestion of all foods) 2 Ultimate GreenZone (as a plant based multivitamin – very nutrient dense Recommended number of weeks on this building program is 2 weeks Next: 1 Probiotic 11 (to populate the digestive tract with beneficial bacteria) 1 Proactazyme Plus Enzyme (to assist with the digestion of all foods) 2 Ultimate GreenZone (as a plant based multivitamin – very nutrient dense 2 drops prevention homeopathic (to penetrate the walls of the PPP’s) 2 VS-C (to address the viral activity inside the PPP’S) Note: Please add the prevention homeopathic drops to the water she will sallow her pills with. Recommended number of weeks on this program: 2 weeks Next: 1 Probiotic 11 (to populate the digestive tract with beneficial bacteria) 1 Proactazyme Plus Enzyme (to assist with the digestion of all foods) 2 Ultimate GreenZone (as a plant based multivitamin – very nutrient dense 1 cracked cell chlorella (to extract metals) 1 Super Omego 3 EPA (to bind metals as they are extracted) **VERY IMPORTANT*** 1 burdock (for liver strengthening and blood cleansing) Recommended number of weeks on TOTAL PROGRAM: 6 weeks It is highly recommended that a follow up blood sample be sent after the completion of the program so that we can see what the body has been able to do with the nutrients administered. It is highly recommended that the starred supplements be continued while awaiting test results. Please write “PRIORITY” on the mailing envelope so that the blood sample can be processed as soon as possible after it is received. WATER: Please see that she drinks ½ her body weight in OUNCES of filtered water daily. DIET: I would HIGHLY recommend restricting the use of the microwave oven in preparing/reheating her food during this program, particularly with so much healing that needs to be done in the digestive tract. When eliminating heavy metals from the body it is helpful to incorporate organic apples, 1 per day, into the diet as they will gently attract metals out of tissues as well, particularly if the cells are strong enough to extract them, which is why the minerals are so important in this process. If tuna fish is consumed, it is important to limit it in the diet. Chunk light tuna contains 3x less mercury than albacore, according to the FDA, and servings should be limited to 1-2 times per week. DETOX BATHS: These are very helpful at opening the skin pores so that the lymphatic system can use the skin more efficiently as a means of elimination, particularly for the heavy metals and for other lymphatic system congestion as well. 1 cup Epsom salts + ½ cup baking soda + ½ tsp ground ginger (the kind you bake with) in a bath of as hot of water as comfortable for 20 minutes 2x per week on non-consecutive days is recommended, beginning immediately. NOTE: Mixing the ginger with the Epsom salts before adding them to the bath will assist with their ability to mix with the bath water. TOPICAL OIL PULLING: This is yet another way to assist the skin in its eliminative capacities, particularly when heavy metals are involved --- Wet her hair down and using REFINED SUNFLOWER OIL, massage a small amount of oil into the scalp for about 5 minutes. You will start to feel some gritty matter as you massage. This is the metals that the sunflower oil is drawing out. I only recommend this head application when there are metals outside the perimeter of the drop, as seen in her case. After massaging for approximately 5 minutes, she can leave the oil sit on her head for 10 minutes and then wash it out. This is a 1-TIME APPLICATION ON THE HEAD. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE ONE OF MY CLIENTS DID THAT IF ONE TIME IS GOOD THEN ANOTHER TIME MUST BE BENEFICIAL AS WELL. SHE FELT THE CONSEQUNCES OF THAT ALL DAY LONG WITH ONE MASSIVE HEADACHE. ONE APPLICATION IS ALL THAT IS NEEDED ON THE HEAD AREA. Having said that, it is recommended that the sunflower oil be massaged into the soles of the feet a few times a week so that the oil can draw the metals down through the largest pores of the body, which happen to be the in the soles of the feet. Some lightweight socks won over the feet would be helpful, especially at bedtime, so that the sheets do not become soiled. The oil will eventually soak in and socks can be removed. As you can see it was only a few supplements, the same everyday and then every two weeks another one was added. We are just past a week on the program now. Also you never mentioned if the mental was concentrated in any specific part of your body? My daughters is concentrated on the right side of her brain. This sounded bad to me and I was nervous but where it is makes it actually easier to extract. Good luck and I hope when you get that metal out of there you will see a HUGE improvement. If you digestive tract has issues like we just learned my daughters have....most supplements you take to help won't help at all..... Just be careful with the detox, use all natural things first before you consider chelation. OH....and yes I have read all the sites on the internet saying this is not true with the Mercruy and such but I have also read enough to believe it is a HUGE problem! If you think about it many things on the internet including doctors around the world do not even believe in Pandas!! Well I guess that would make a good number of people on here "crazy" including myslef. But if you were to ask anyone here who is dealing with Pandas....they will tell you that the "doctors" are the crazy ones and probably know more about it than any doctor could or will! If something is not meant to be in your body....than it shouldn't be, and if it is I highly doubt its not causing any troubles within... Take care and good luck
  8. Have you considered or heard of a live/dry blood analysis? My daughter was on supplements but they never seemed to help. Through this low cost test we learned her body was not using the supplements correctly and resognizing some of them as toxins and eliminating them. We also found a fungus in her digestive tract and it also showed heavy metal concentration on the right side of her brain. The test was out of pocket $125.00 here for us. We are on a six week program to correct her digestive system, rid of a virus it also found and the last 2 weeks we will be detoxing for the medal load she is carrying. Mercury as well in th ebody causes all the symptoms you speak of. Maybe the supplements you are using are not being absorbed or recognized by his body as good things, thus ridding of them before any nutritional gain is met. This test can show you everything from parasties, yeast, heavy metal, nutrirents you are not sufficient in, shows even if the supplements you are giving are working, you name it with this test! I only had wished we heard and knew of it a long long time ago. I have a really good feeling about this and I have that Mommy gut ###### t well telling me that this is going to be very beneficial for her. Its just a prick of the finger as well so its not the trauma of having to go through the regular blood tests. Its quite amazing this test. Not that practiced with modern docs but they use it widely in Europe. Goodluck to you and I sure hope you the best no matter what you decide. I know how it feels to see your child fall apart in front of your eyes! Also post about Dr. K on here. If you travel ANYWHERE chicago is the place to go for pandas (if this is what you are dealing with) Apparently he treats children with a steriod burst...if they react well, then from my understanding he diagnoses as Pandas (if they meet the other criteria as well) Also inquire about IVIG from Pomerno and Worried Dad, they have both had the procedure with Dr. K and are having GOOD results from what I read. Hang on there and I hope you nothing but the best in you road ahead!

  10. Caryn thanks for the reply. We are actually using these baths to detox her heavy metal load (her tics are still gone) The baths consists of epsom salts along with baking powder and ginger. (Sunflower oil on the head) We did though use the mag cream you are speaking of when we were trying to alleviate her tics.
  11. footballguy, Can I ask if eye blinking is your only tic? and if you have been diagnosed with anything? I only ask because after I found out my daughter is high in heavy netals I have been reading alot about it and it seems the number one metal toxicity is mercury. I believe I have read along the way about it causing eye blinking. There was another mentioned to cause eye blinking as well but I didn't book mark it. I will try and find it later and pass it on.
  12. A 5 year old Chinese boy of healthy unrelated parents presented to our hospital on two occasionsinitially with oral ulceration, and then with motor and vocal tics. The oral ulceration, which mainly affected the left lateral aspect of his tongue, appeared approximately five weeks prior to the onset of tics. Herpetic ulceration was diagnosed and confirmed by the isolation of herpes simplex virus (HSV) type 1 from his tongue swab. The lesion improved after treatment with a five day course of oral acyclovir (200 mg five times daily), but relapsed a few days after finishing the course of medication. The family then consulted a local pharmacist who prescribed for the child a Chinese medicinal herb (CMH) mouth spray, named "Watermelon Frost". The spray was said to be useful in controlling pain and healing difficult mucosal wounds. Over the following weeks, his mother noticed an improvement in his oral symptoms but commented that he had become irritable and had been clearing his throat frequently. A transient skin rash was also noticed on his trunk a few days before his second admission. On the day of admission, he developed a sudden onset of motor tics that consisted of eye blinking, head turning, and shoulder shrugging. There was no preceding history of flu like symptoms, head injury, or consumption of other drugs or herbs. His general health had been good and his developmental milestones were normal. There was no family history of any psychiatric or neurological problems. He had been on a normal unrestricted diet and there was no history of excessive seafood consumption. He looked well on examination, which was interrupted by episodes of motor tics as described. Blood pressure was 110/65 mm Hg and heart rate 96 beats per minute. No skin rash or desquamation on the palms and soles were noted. There was a small healing ulcer at the tip of his tongue. His speech and gait were normal. Cardiovascular, respiratory, abdominal, and neurological examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Initial investigations including complete blood count, renal function tests and electrolytes, liver enzymes, immunoglobulins, complement, as well as urine analysis and toxicology screen were all normal. Electroencephalography, cranial computerised tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging were also normal. Serum antineuronal antibody as determined by flow cytometry (less than 5 MIF units) and ASOT (less than 60 Todd units) were not raised. On further questioning, our patient admitted that he had been using the CMH mouth spray up to 20 times a day for the preceding four weeks, when the recommended dose was only one spray twice a day. As the use of herbal medication always arouses the suspicion of heavy metal exposure in the locality, screening for heavy metals was performed. The herbal spray was digested with concentrated nitric acid (12 mmol/l) for five days at room temperature, and total mercury concentration was then measured by cold vapour atomic absorption spectrophotometry (Flow Injection Mercury System, Perkin Elmer Corp., Norwalk, Connecticut, USA). Arsenic, manganese, and lead contents were determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry (SIMAA 6000 Analyser, Perkin Elmer Corp.). The blood concentrations for lead and manganese were 0.31 µmol/l (normal <1.5 µmol/l) and 246 nmol/l (normal 70-280 nmol/l); urine arsenic was 10 nmol/mmol creatinine (normal <68 nmol/mmol). Blood mercury concentration was 83 nmol/l (normal for adults <50 nmol/l). The mercury content of the spray was 878 ppm (2% methylmercury and 98% inorganic mercury). There was also a significant difference in mercury content between different brands as well as batches of the same brand of CMH (see table 1). Sensory and motor nerve conduction velocities in our patient were normal. Detailed neuropsychological assessment was also normal. The spray was discontinued on admission. As the patient was clinically stable and his neurological symptoms improving, chelating therapy was not considered to be necessary. His tics completely resolved at follow up four weeks later. His blood mercury level also returned to normal. When he was seen again six months after discharge, he was asymptomatic despite new ulcers appearing on his tongue. On that visit, detailed immunological investigations including enumeration of peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets and their proliferative responses to mitogens were performed and yielded normal results. The aetiology of tics is poorly understood. Neurological dysfunction has been proposed as one of the many possible causative factors. Evidence to support this includes: (1) the onset of new tics or accentuation of pre-existing tics in some patients treated with stimulant medications such as methylphenidate1; (2) reduction of symptoms during treatment with medications that affect neurotransmitters in the brain, such as haloperidol. It has been suggested that the primary problem in tic disorder is an imbalance in central neurotransmitters. In cases of mercury poisoning, the metal combines with the sulphydryl group of S-adenosylmethionine, which acts as a cofactor for catecholamine-o-methyltransferase (COMT). Inhibition of COMT leading to accumulation of catecholamines, which act as important neurotransmitters, may explain the pathophysiology of tics in cases of mercury intoxication.2 The manifestations of mercury toxicity vary, depending on the chemical form of the mercury compound and patient sensitivity. In chronic inorganic mercury intoxication, the predominant clinical features include gastrointestinal symptoms, renal dysfunction, and neuropsychiatric abnormalities. In contrast, organic mercury poisoning results in almost purely neurological damage that is usually permanent except in the mildest of cases. Acrodynia, described mainly in young children, is thought to be a hypersensitivity reaction to mercury which may occur alone or in combination with the other manifestations of mercury poisoning. Mercury intoxication with tics as the only manifestation has never been reported in the literature. The "Watermelon Frost" that our patient took contained 878 ppm of mercury, mainly in the inorganic form. Although methylmercury constituted only 2% of total mercury in the CMH preparation, the content was 18 times the action level of mercury in food as proposed by the Food and Drug Administration.3 This high mercury intake, together with the temporal association between symptom onset and increased blood mercury level, and the subsequent resolution of symptoms with normalisation of mercury concentration, make chronic mercury poisoning the most likely culprit. We have considered infection as an alternative explanation for the appearance of tics in this child. It has been suggested that tic disorders may be triggered by an antecedent infection with group A haemolytic streptococcus.4 The neurological abnormalities have been postulated to be mediated through antineuronal antibodies which appear in response to the infection. However, ASOT and antineuronal antibodies were both negative in our patient. The neurotropic herpes simplex virus might also cause unusual neurological symptoms including tics.5 However, this is unlikely to be the case in our patient, as his tics completely resolved once his blood mercury level was normalised and did not reappear despite new oral symptoms. Chinese herbal medicines are widely used and easily obtainable over the counter in Hong Kong. Owing to the extensive modifications of drug formulations and chemical extraction from an expanding range of natural products, more cases of adverse reactions have been reported in recent years.6 Even batches of CMH from the same manufacturer may contain variable amounts of active or potential toxic ingredients, as illustrated by our case. Though still relatively rare, heavy metal poisoning with CMH should always be suspected if a previously healthy child develops unusual symptoms, especially those involving the central nervous system. http://adc.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/83/2/174
  13. Okay here is my conclusion (or what I am going to do anyhow) what do you think Cheri? I am going to first wash her in a shower. Then I will soak her in her bath and after the bath I will JUST rinse (no soap) with water before I take her out. Now though I am thinking about her hair??? She is 6 years old so of course while taking a bath she plays and lays backwards like a backfloat....her hair is then in the water! I will have to find a way I guess to just get her to sit and soak. This will be challenging! We do everything you can imagine for her to soak for the 20 minutes as it is!!!!!! Lurker...I did find the oil on line at clarksnutrition....Thanks for thinking of me though! Refined sunflower oil proved hard to get my hands on it!!!!
  14. Cheri, My doctor did finally get back to me on the question about baths I asked. I am confused because its opposite of what you replied. She said to rinse off after the bath. (kinda cool water, not cold of course) She said that any toxins you pull out will be in the bath water and you want to rinse this off. Rinsing with the cool water she said will also close the pores. So now I am really confused... She said even with just an epsom salts bath to relax...it will pull out toxins if you have them and you shouldn't leave them on your body. We will do bath number 3 on Monday.....not sure how I will go about it now??? For both of you make sense
  15. Can antibiotics make a mercury problem worse? Yes. In one scientific study, mice given antibiotics before they were exposed to mercury showed much greater levels of mercury in their tissues than mice who did not take antibiotics, but were given the same amount of mercury to ingest. This goes along with the idea that normal gut bacteria are help guard against the absorption of mercury. Antibiotics kill the good gut flora at the same time they are killing the harmful bacteria. This information is especially important for anyone who is eating mercury-contaminated food such as certain fish right after or during antibiotic therapy. While antibiotics can be lifesaving and are important drugs in today’s world, they sometimes come with a cost. They can increase mercury absorption as well as alter the bowel bacteria concentrations thus setting the stage for a yeast overgrowth problem in certain people. http://www.yeastconnection.com/getting_ask.html Mercury Sources of exposure: Air pollution, batteries, cosmetics, dental amalgams, diuretics, electrical devices and relays, explosives, foods (grains), fungicides, fish, insecticides, pesticides, paint, petroleum products, tap water, vaccines, anti-biotics. http://www.createvibranthealth.com/HeavyMetalToxicity.htm The more and more I read about heavy metal and its symptoms, conditions.......These are all too familar to us???? I also did some research on manganese....this causes movement disorders as well, the infant soy formula is apparently full of it. I am going to stop reading for the day.....I feel sick now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Michele, not sure if the abilify or zoloft falls into this category but if you suspect Pandas then I would ask "WORRIED DAD" about his post and experiences on the psych drugs. Here is part of the post: I'm afraid my son's progress on zithromax was completely obscured by psych meds (ativan and zyprexa) prescribed by our local psychiatrist that put our son over the edge. By the time we were warned by others on this forum and by Dr. K that these meds were bad news for most PANDAS kids. Again I have no idea what kinds of drugs fall under that category, but just wanted to give you a heads up if you suspect Pandas. I hope things improve for you soon. quote name='michele' date='Oct 25 2008, 09:25 AM' post='27385'] Just wondering if you had heard or researched Actos? Our DAN! seems to think this is the med for the future to correct immune issues in spectrum kids. Is your daughter on anxiety meds now? We are taking meds to control the symptoms. My son is starting Zoloft 12 mg a day to stop the obsessive thoughts and repetitive movements. I was interested to know your opinion on these drugs? My son also takes Abilify for the moods, and tics and ADHD. I really don't think you can expect an antibiotic to take away all the symptoms. My son also takes a daily antibiotic Omnicef 300 mg a day to keep the strep at bay. He has ben exposed to alot of strep and crud this fall and has had some set backs. I notice it used to work better in the beginning. I am not sure what is next in regards to the antibiotics. What would be the next stronger antibiotic after Omnicef? I hate to jump to azith because if it looses its effectiveness what is left? Michele
  17. What kind of program is she on? and what tests did they do? When I have time, I will tell you what I found out from the DAN doctor today - its' pretty amazing information re: mercury removal. Pat PMORENO If you jump over to the tics board and read the post that states dry blood analysis, long but worth it. When you open the post scroll down to the bottom...that is the suggested program she has been on. 2nd bath lastnight as well with the epsom salts, baking powder and ginger. I did some searching on ginger tonight...WOW, when you get some time google it. Its pretty amazing stuff. And please do tell me what your doctor said when you get a minute!
  18. It sounds almost too good to be true. I may try it myself to see. But I didn't read anything in there about putting the oil on the scalp. Do you know of any sites that discuss that specifically? Can you ask your doctor where she got the idea to do that and what evidence (hopefully medical) supports that? Thanks a lot, and don't forget to ask about cold pressed vs. refined oil. I will look around for some info....I will get back to you. The report on my daughter (the one suggesting the sunflower on her scalp) was not written by our actaul pediatrician. It was from the person who did the actual bllod analysis. It was sent out. I will see though what I can find out. I made it 18 minutes this morning with the oil swishing. It actually becomes easier! Today it seemed I coughed up alot of junk....(congestion) wonder if it has anything to do with the oil?? I would surely like to know for sure! I will keep on it for now. I will get get back to you with some info as soon as I find out something or find something about it....
  19. Obviously I recently found out that the supplements I was giving my daughter were not being used by her body. I could have supplemented forever and it would have never made a difference if her body was not absorbing/utilizing them. It was apparently a waste of time in money in our case. Now that she has been tested and is on a program to help her overcome this....I am sure I will see a BIG difference in the way her body reacts to supplements and such. (after the wean off topamax anyhow) Maybe that is why some have really goodluck with supplements and some do not...could it be the body is just not abosrbing/using them??? Something to think about...in my opinion anyhow I will add that only after three days on her recommended plan, my little 6 year old, 40 pound daughter has developed one healthy appetite!!! Maybe we can get a little weight gain here (Finally) she has been 40 pounds FOREVER!
  20. I know that she is young, but that written in her file could very well effect her as an adult....jobs, ect... I would get that off. That makes me EVEN MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. I am so glad we do NOT drink soda......No one likes it here.....guess we are lucky COKE 1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident. 2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days. 3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china. 4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola. 5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion. 6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes. 7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy. 8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean haze from your windshield. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean engines of the trucks for about 20 years! Now the question is, would you like a glass of water? or Coke? http://www.authorsden.com/SampleWorksPDF/21150.pdf
  22. myrose, Many times heavy metals will only show up in urine if a challenging agent is used. My understanding, it will only show in blood for a short time also. Metals settle in tissue, i.e. bone (lead too, it will only show in blood if the source is ongoing), brain, kidney etc. I was asked by one Dr. if I wanted the boys to have a urine challenge. I had every intention of having that done, until I came to the conclusion that removal of metals (even the amt. that would be pulled with that type of test) was tricky business. The body needs to be in a state where it can be escorted out of the body. Pulling it from tissue, without everything else in place and functioning properly can result in redisposition. I would not want it pulled from bone or kidney and ending up in the brain. I know there has been discussion of apples on another thread. Amy Yasko feels that the metals are holding onto intercellular bacteria like strep. She talks a lot about aluminum in this respect. I think it's the pectin in apples that is supposed to help in removal of aluminum. These metals are in so many things that we encounter everyday, however, ingested as opposed to injected is normally not as bad, in regards to a alum at least. I know I have read that mercury, as in the type that may be ingested by eating fish, is said to be attached to protein, and is more likely to be cleared from the body than unbound mercury. I have come to HATE mercury emitting power plants too. Clean coal technology is not a reality yet. edit to add link to Yasko forum http://www.ch3nutrigenomics.com/phpBB2/ind...69514449e8233c0 EAmom, I was hoping that intranasal vaccines might prove to be a safer administration too, as it seemed more of a natural route of exposure. Then I read some pretty compelling articles against that idea. One concern was that the exposure to the brain may actually be worse. Also, the nasal flu vaccine sheds. It is a live viral vaccine. You can transmit to others. If our fear is autoimmune attack, what is really being accomplished? You still have antibody development. Some vaccines (and I don't know if the flu shot is one or not) can actually suppress the immune system (MMR) making you more susceptable to other illness for at least a period of time. Remember, the strains included in the flu vaccine are not the only ones that can cause "the flu" or "flu like" illness. Please remember, I'm not speaking as any authority here. I will consider (hating it) the 2nd dose of varicella, if my boys don't show immunity. I have a particular fear of varicella at an older age. By giving the vaccine, at least I can control when they get it and make sure that they are in the best shape possible ( I will give a few specific supplements prior to and a very low protein diet for a few days after administration). That is one advantage of a flu vaccine too. You have a little control. It just seems that if we have to fear immune activation on each and every front, we're really in rough shape here. If it not strep or the flu or pneumonnia, or staph, etc. what will it be that causes a big problem. Can we avoid ALL illness for our kids? What about the common cold, which the same virus can cause flu like illness. How about injuries and allergies? Would love to hear any opposing views that you may have, and I mean that in all sincerity! Kim, thanks for the great info. Helps me to understand more why it did not show in her urine. About the distraction process and the body needing to be working properly before its attempted makes sense to me. Did you catch this part of the report? I will be recommending a 3 part program for this child, first to build the nutritional core of her body so that she can move through the process of extracting the metals with more efficiency, though she is actually doing a pretty good job of it -- she needs additional help with binding the metals that are outside the perimeter of the drops. It seems right along the lines of what you were saying about the distraction etc.... Hopefully after this 6 weeks we will have said bye bye to the metals and then get on a program to maintain her bodies response to detox itself.
  23. PMERNO Here is the board..... http://www.psoriasis.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19222 check it out, alot on there claim it has also cured their psorasis (sure I spelled that wrong)
  24. In regards to the sunflower on the feet....I am not sure about when and how many times. I have a call into the doctor and I will let you know what they say. If you look at the bottom of my post on the tics board, I copied exactly the full report. That is where the sunflower oil comes in...maybe you can read or understand it differently from me??? Oil pulling in regards to the mouth...the highest reccomended one for that is Hain sunflower oil. You can use cold pressed but I was told the best is the hain sunflower. I do this myself now. My teeth actaully whitened! And the energy is also there. I would never have believed it! now I am a believer! I try to keep swishing through my whole shower. The longest I have made it is 15 minutes, they reccomend 20 so thats pretty good for me LOL The hair pulling is a different method. They say to use refined sunflower for this. I did finally find the refined sunflower on an internet site the other day. They even had the Hain sunflower for me as well so I ordered both. Its called clarksnutrion.com There is a board similar to this one that speaks of the oil pulling. Its really interesting! I will try and find it tonight and if I do I will send you the link. Children can do the hain sunflower as well in the mouth but my daughter is afraid she will swallow it. They say NEVER swallow it because after its been in your mouth swishing its full of bacteria and such YUCK!
  25. Hello, I have read your post...I am SO HAPPY for you! I wish you continued success...please keep posting. Reagrding your Mercury issue....not sure if you read my post in which I posted the whole blood analysis on my daughter. At the bottom of the report were some methods to help rid her of the metal load she is carrying. I see you already deceided on which supplements (one of them you mentioned was in the recommendation program for my daughter) Anyhow thought I would post to you some tips I was given to help as well: When eliminating heavy metals from the body it is helpful to incorporate organic apples, 1 per day, into the diet as they will gently attract metals out of tissues as well, particularly if the cells are strong enough to extract them, which is why the minerals are so important in this process. We were also instructed to do a bath 2x per week but not consecutively. The bath consists of epsom salts, baking powder, and ginger (the kind you bake with) Lastly, refined sunflower oil....this is a one time application ONLY! She was very stern in this. I am to put it on my daughters head and massage, she said I will actually start to feel some gritty matter in which would be the actual metals coming out. Leave on 10 minutes and then thats it. It can only be REFINED sunflower oil and you can only do it ONE time. She warns of EXTREME headaches if you repeat. Also mentions to put the sunflower oil on the feet to draw the metal out as well. I am waiting on the refined oil now...took me forever to finally find some on the internet. I will let you know how it goes and if what she says is true. I do believe it is.....when you have some time...google OIL PULLING....AMAZING stuff Hope my little bit helps....and I wish you continued success! Its so nice when we get these kinds of posts!
