At wits end - time for meds? Help

Bmom....have you ever tried a macrolide? I can't remember. But, even if it didn't work in the past, perhaps he is dealing with an infection now that the Augmentin doesn't take care of. Just a thought.......also, how did the steroid bursts go?

 

I have been tracking you for years because our boys are the same age and ticcers....no behavioral stuff...and they have similar presentation and low titers. That is why I am so interested in you guys!

I would say the tics backed off within a couple of days after switching. Just want to note, though, that there are plenty of people on the board who have had the opposite experience where Augmentin or omnicef was the villian and zithromax was the saviour.

I just want to also remind anyone who is reading here primarily re tics and TS and who may be confused by the talk of antibiotics....the members discussing the abx are parents of kids who also have a PANDAS (or suspected) diagnosis.

 

as a rule, antibiotics are not used for tics and Tourette Syndrome unless there is also an infection to treat, in the case of PANDAS, strep
