My son has about 5 warts on his hand and they've been there for over a year. We've tried various strategies and to be honest, we're not always consistent with the follow through. I know it's a virus but I'm just wondering if there's any connection to the PANDAS symptoms that we are dealing with. Every dr just shrugs it off and says they will go away eventually or we can freeze them but they will probably come back. My older son also had them and they did go away but my PANDAS son seems to be keeping them for a lot longer and there are more of them. His immune numbers were good so I'm not sure if we can tie this into his immune system.

We had a wart problemfor a long time and I got rid of them with Oil of Oregano. You have to get a good brand, like Oreganol. I gave it orally, but you can also apply topically, too. Oil of Oregano kills strep, too.

Really? Hmm. I'll have to try it. Can I get that at Whole Foods?

Yes, it is $30 for a small bottle but should last a long time. I would try 2 drops twice a day. Make sure you give it away from probiotics, it works like an antibiotic. Kills bacteria, viruses and yeast. You may even see a little yeast die-off if he has any.

I want to chime in with my 2 cents. I had a wart on the beginning of one of my thumbs for a number of months, almost a year, back before I knew I had PANDAS and lyme disease and severe fungal infection. Probably a clue of an immune issue, that it didn't resolve itself in the time "they" say it will do so on its own. I got mine froze off, came back, and the second freeze-off worked. I hear 2 or 3 freeze-offs is typical for it to really take. Regular MD's sent me to a dermatologist because they have stuff that won't scar. It still did leave a scar, not that it is a big deal on my thumb there. Surprising how painful that freezing stuff was, and how expensive it was for such quick office visits.

I'll keep in mind the oregano for next time. That would have been a nice thing to try first.

My son has been poked and prodded so many times that I think he would go running if I tried to take him to the dr to freeze the warts! I think I can get him to do the Oil of Oregano alot easier.

Yes, I believe so..., not only does it really really sting, you can see the stuff shooting out of the machine, flying through air at you ... it fits much better in one of those violent movies, not as much in real life! Hopefully that will do the trick!

Justine, I forgot to mention how I give the Oil of Oregano. It actually stings a little as it is going down, kind of the way listerine stings the mouth, but you know it is killing germs... Anyway, both of my kids (5 and 2) got used to it and don't complain anymore. I put about a teaspoon of water into a little medicine cup and I put about a 1/4 scoop of stevia (you can also get this at Whole Foods, it's a natural sweetener). Then I put a couple drops of Oil of Oregano into the water. I mix it up with a syringe and then syringe it into their mouths. It takes a couple weeks to work on small warts, don't know about large ones. If they are large then you may want to apply topically as well. Good luck! BTW, the warts do come back after a while (but not as bad if you get on it quickly) so then you have to do the Oil again for few weeks or so.

It is really good if you are in a pinch when the kids get bad pandas symptoms and you are waiting to contact the doc to up the abx. I have really knocked out pandas symptoms with it before. I could probably use it exclusively but I tend to rely on the abx, don't know why.

I purchased the Oil of Oregano and we will give it a try. We're going to start small and do it topically for now and then see how it goes. Do you know how long it took for them to go away?

Olive Leaf Extract and Vitamin C together were very helpful in getting rid of warts for my DS. Have to work up gradually to a quite high dose of the OLE (2000 mg/day) Also makes yeast come out for some stupid reason--so did Oil of Oregano. I used Vitamin Shoppe capsules.

Yes, Olive leaf should work, too. Also, Olive Leaf is very good for strep. Many parents use this exclusively to control pandas...

I have heard that olive leaf causes yeast. i don't quite understand that since it also treats yeast. i am assuming you have to rotate herbs so that the yeast does not become resistant.

It took a few weeks for the warts to go away, but that was taking the Oil of Oregano internally and not topically. I really think you have to take it internally to really wipe them out.
