tpotter Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Have you had a full immuno workup? I would start there. If you need to, try Dr. B., because he knows about treating PANDAS, but maybe get the workup before you go. If the immuno workup turns out positive, this might help some of the problems. Good luck.
alderliefest Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 This is very interesting. I too have a lousy immune system and because of too low progesterone had 4 miscarriages . Might be worth it for DD to be checked. Nancy Progesterone raises when someone is pregnant and they are currently researching to see how progesterone may help people with brain injuries. So, there may be a connection to the progesterone increase in pregnancy and the relief of PANDAS symptoms at the time. I brought this up awhile ago...http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?...hl=progesterone alderliefest, can you go through a list of supplements that you are currently taking and what antibiotics you have recently tried or are currently taking? Do you take birth control? Also, if you have blemishes or adult acne you could try going to a dermatologist and often they will give long term antibiotics for acne. Those antibiotics may help your PANDAS. Just brainstorming here. In 2000-2002 i was on 250mgs of Amoxicillin twice a day 2000-Current I am on Luvox 50mgs twice a day and Clonopin .5mgs twice a day 2009-2010 I was on Clydamicin 150mgs twice a day for 30 days end of march i took a round of zithro and am now taking 250mgs every 4 days. Also for the past month I have been taking omega3 once a day and cranberry pills. I have an OK immune system. I have Ehlors Danlos, which is a connective tissue disorder, and i get a ton of colds and ear infections, but otherwise i don't think i have any real immune issues. I'm definitely gonna call Dr. B.
thereishope Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 You're now the 4th person I've met in the world of PANDAS that has Ehlors Danlos. I can't remember if it's just the moms that have it or if it's the moms and the PANDAS kids. I thought Ehlors Danlos wasn't that common?

I found out when I found out about the PANDAS that I had it. I don't know if DD2 had is it yet. I hope not. I have type 3 I believe which isn't going to affect me later in life but it is odd. I also have mitro vaulve prolapse because of the Ehlors Danlos
momto2pandas Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Joint hypermobility and mitral valve prolapse are quite common in anxiety disorders, particularly when they are associated with other autoimmune disorders. I actually have both. You're now the 4th person I've met in the world of PANDAS that has Ehlors Danlos. I can't remember if it's just the moms that have it or if it's the moms and the PANDAS kids.
