Cause of new tic

SO we started Mag Taurate 500 mg about a week ago. Suddenly a new tic with his wrist. He is flexing his left wrist and bending it. I can't figure out what has brought this new one on. Has anyone had any issues with Mag Taurate causing new tics?

I've not had that problem with the mag., but have you thought about his diet in general? What else may have changed? It may just be a coincidence. You could try stopping using the mag and see if the tic subsides or diminishes or you could analyze his diet to see if he ate something or was exposed to something that might trigger a reaction.

Nothing has changed in his diet. The only change has been the suppliments going from Mag Citrate to Mag taurate. Not sure what else to consider.

Have you thought of just trying the magnesium by itself? Maybe it's the taurine? I know that when I add supplements I try one at a time and magnesium taurate is 2 supplements in one. I'd switch to just a magnesium or cal/mag supplement first and see if that helps.

My DS had a strong increase in tics on mangesium taurate. I stopped and started several times because I had heard such positive things about it. Each time, there was a measurable increase, but it went away within a day or two when I stopped the taurate. A few other people have had this problem.

yes I think it is related to the mag taurate. I am gonna stick to the mag by itself. Thanks so much for the input!!!!

agreed on it possibly being a reaction to the taurine

 

some just dont seem to handle it well, altho for those that do, it can be very beneficial in reducing tics

 

again comes down to that unique system that each individual has
