trggirl Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Hi, I called Dr. Cunningham last week and left a message telling them I was interested in participating in the study. I have not heard back yet. Does anyone remember how long it takes for her to get back to you? I hate to call and bother her again, but I don't want my message to slip through the cracks either. I am so anxious to get all this testing done to see if it reveals anything.
Tigger013 Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Hi, I called Dr. I had just recently e-mailed her and she responded right away. Try resending her again. You can also send her partner an e-mail. They are working together <Kathy-Alvarez@ouhsc.edu> Know I was told that the test is $400?? Ugh, wish there were other options. I want to test, but the whole money thing and then find out the results are not the direction I was hoping. Good luck. Any new info, please let me know.
fuelforall Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 As I recall, they are beginning to do the tests starting this week after a couple month layoff. So last week, they may not have been available. Yes, try the Kathy Alvarez email.
thereishope Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 From what I understand, they had to raise the price of the test because they lost funding and I believe in the past some parents banded together to donate money to cut the cost of the test to parents. That money finally ran out. At least the test is still being done. What would be a good question to ask is if you can deduct it on taxes as a donation or a medical expense. I know it doesn't help with the initial charge, but maybe you can get some of it back?
EAMom Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 yes...the $400 is at least tax deductable.
trggirl Posted January 18, 2010 Author Report Posted January 18, 2010 Thanks, I will try the other email!
