kim Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I hope anyone who considers giving their child an aluminum containing vaccine views info found in link below, particularly the part about alum activating inflammasomes instead of toll like receptors which would happen in a normally occuring infection as opposed to vaccination (my understanding). If I'm wrong, i hope someone points it out. If I'm right to be concerned, people who you would expect to be familiar with this info. need to stop recommending these vaccines, until they know how it might affect kids with inflammatory problems, it would seem. http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?...amp;hl=aluminum The part about toll like receptors inducing vitamin A, promoting T regs and inhibiting autoimmunity, appears important also, in the whole scheme of vaccinating people with a history/family history of autoimmune disease http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19252500 2009 Apr;15(4):401-9. Epub 2009 Mar 1. Toll-like receptor 2-dependent induction of vitamin A-metabolizing enzymes in dendritic cells promotes T regulatory responses and inhibits autoimmunity. My boys didn't recieve Prev. either, however they were born in the approx. 10 year span where children recieved the highest amts of thimerosal. The combo of thimerosal and alum is not a good thing. I'm grateful that they were born too soon to get this one.
coco Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I am so sorry I have not replied earlier to this post. My other son had pneumonia (probably strep pneumonia) and he was in the hospital. My son Carter is 8 1/2 and had the prevnar vaccine in Charlotte, NC. I will look up the dates and Lot # today. Dr. O'Connor wants him to be re-vaccinated and get IVIG if he fails. I don't feel good at all about re-giving that vaccine. What are the rest of you doing? My immuno told me not to revaccinate my 9 year old daughter with prevnar/pneuovax...much too dangerous and not worth the risks. My daughter in addition to pandas has been diagnosed with SAID, Specific Antibody Immune Deficiency, failed the pneumo strep 14, tetnus, borderline fail lymes, and failed 2 or the 4 IGG subclasses. I would err with caution.
