ShaesMom
Question...is it wrong to get copies from the library and on the inside back cover or last page write in pencil www.pandasnetwork.org? Does anyone know if pandas network refers people to this forum for support? What a great idea! Maybe you could write it on a sticky note, so you're not acually writing in the book. I'd write it in the book-too easy to pull a sticky note out! I went to our library last night and asked them to order it. I may buy my own copy by the time they get theres but the next Mom in need of answers will be able to read it.
ShaesMom
I haven't received my pre-ordered copy from amazon yet (hopefully it will arrive today). I think it would be very helpful if as many people as possible could go to amazon and write a positive (lots of stars!) review of the book. The more highly reviewed books are more likely to sell/be read, right? I don't know if it is against any of amazon's rules to put in a mention of pandas network (probably!). But, you could also consider mentioning other treatments, other symptoms, perhaps a brief story of your own child (so others know that PANDAS can present in a variety of ways). Right now Saving Sammy is #64 in "hot new releases"...maybe we can push it up a bit! Is this out of 100? If you think about it that is actually kind of scary! How many kids out there are suffering from this disease whose parents haven't found this board yet?!
thereishope
My son was diagnosed with PANDAS for over maybe 7 months before I found this forum. I didn't know about it with any of my 3 episodes. There are other smaller forums out there and even though they know about this one, they prefer to stick with the smaller. I try to inform them about all the "big stuff" that I learn here. Like "Saving Sammy", pandas network, etc. I occassionally find a mom living with PANDAS on an OCD board. EAMom
I just got my book. I love that it is dedicated to Sue Swedo!
mama2alex
My book finally came about 2 hours ago. The first thing I noticed was the quote by Daniel Geller of Harvard Medical School at the top of the cover: "...may well hold the key to curing the lives of millions." MILLIONS! Quietly stated, but has huge implications. It sounds to me like he doesn't think this is so rare after all.
