Guest
I'm having trouble with not only Aiden (my son) being sensitive to something I'm eating, but also myself, and I could really use your help figuring it out. I'm going to start writing everything that I eat down. I'm off of dairy, soy, and gluten, so it can't be those. Every so ofte Aiden's bottom all of the sudden gets really red. I give him so diaper free time and it clears up. I also am getting a sudden red ring on my bottom that goes away within a few days. I kind of wonder if the donuts I eat every so often are bothering us both. Do you guys have any idea what a troublesome ingredient in these might be. They are kinnikinnick foods chocolate dipped donuts. Here are the ingredients: cing(Sugar, water, glucose, cocoa powder), Sugar, White Rice Flour, Tapioca Starch, Water, Whole Eggs, Sweet Rice Flour, non Hydrogenated Shortening(Palm Fruit or Canola), Fructooligosaccharide, Yeast, Pea Protein, Egg Whites, Xanthan Gum, Fruit Concentrate(dextrose, dextrin, fiber), Salt, Rice Bran Extract, Cellulose, KinnActive Baking Powder, Glucono Delta Lactone, Sodium Bicarbonate, Nutmeg Caroyn
laurena82
HI Carolyn, My first guesses would be either the egg or cocoa. From my experience, dairy and egg allergies frequently go hand in hand... Generally if you can completely avoid the offending food for a week, then eat that food numerous times in the same day (e.g. day 8)...you will get the "reaction" and big time....within a day or two ....and there will be no doubt you are reacting to whatever the food tried was. You could try avoiding the donuts for a week, then have a few of them spaced throughout one day(important to eat more than once that day)........if that gives you the reaction, ....well, you know to avoid the donuts......then could start trying the individual ingredients. BEST WISHES!!
Chemar
Hiya Carolyn hope motherhood is blessing you! we'd love to see some more pics of Aiden re the red rash.....often dietary acidic things can also do that, but whenever I have had something similar, it is usually candida. plain zinc oxide ointment can often be very soothing hope it clears up for you
Guest
Eggs and cocoa don't bother him like this when they are in other foods. The store actually has a sign up that this product no longer meets their standards due to a change in ingredients. I'm trying to find out what ingredients those are. Aiden's doing well other than he won't take bottles. He's not gaining as much weight as he should which I think is related to that. He's gaining 1/2 pound per month rather than the suggested 1-2 pounds per month. He's ahead on milestones. He's been rolling over for 2-3 weeks now. He can pull himself up to a standing position using my hands. He has good head control unless he gets excited. Enjoy the pics. Carolyn

ilovedogs
He is so adorable! I have a pic of my son when he was that little sitting in one of those bouncy chairs and grabbing his toes! Your picture reminded me of how jovial he was as a baby. He still is today! One of the happiest kids you'll meet.....well, until his tics start bugging him, but that doesn't happen often! Bonnie
