AHB900 Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Hello, i havent been on here for awhile, because i had been doing pretty good with my tics had them under control and they were very minimal. Two days ago my old vocal tic came back just randomly out of know where and its really bothering me. I make a sound like it sounds like bahh or mummm and sometimes just a hmmmm... I am going on a trip with my friends this weekend and im really worried its gonna happen at night while im trying to sleep while the room is silent and im gonna be asked what was that etc. I am really worried anybody have any suggestions how i can stop this vocal tic or atleast cover it up? Thanks
Chemar Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Hi could be the anticipation of the trip triggering the tic...my son tics more when excited have you tried L-carnitine? it helped my son with vocals hope you have a great time away and remember your friends may be a lot more understanding than you think
samsmom Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 We also do well with L-Carnitine for vocal tics. I agree with Cheri that the excitement of going away could have brought this on. The other possibility is spring allergies - have you been tested for these? Sue
AHB900 Posted March 4, 2009 Author Report Posted March 4, 2009 Hmm that is very possible actually considering it started RIGHT after me and my friend started talkin about it and my mom confirmed i can go. I do have L-Carnetine but i kinda stopped taking it it had a horrible taste. I wish i got the ones in pill form. Also im taking magnesium but i get magnesium from 3 different supplements and i think im getting to much how much should be consumed from just supplements daily? and i have not been tested for spring allergies but i dont know if i have allergies i tryed taking claritin D and i had no help at all for anything.
