bmom
Pamela Kay, I was thinking about your posts a few days ago and wondering how your daughter was? Did the cough go away that you were concerned was a tic? Just curious as I felt the sadness in your posts!
Tracey111
Hi All, Interesting topic Faith.....I am here tonight looking for information to give to my DR. I am returning to the primary DR tomorrow for the first time since my son's tics appeared last August/September. After several months of frustration, I gave up on the traditional doctors and did not have the funds for "all natural" doctors. You all helped me get his tics under control!!!!!! I spent many hours reading these posts! His tics returned right before vacation two weeks ago, but with a diet cleanup and more consistent supplements last week, they appear to be subsiding again! Today was a good day and that warmed my heart!!! I am going to ask for IgG testing for food sensitivities....it looks like it may be expensive, so I have to figure out if insurance will cover it! I also want to have blood work done to make sure that his little system is handling all of these supplements that I am pumping into him....that has always worried me! Thank you to all of you for always sharing!!!
Pamela Kay
Pamela Kay,I was thinking about your posts a few days ago and wondering how your daughter was? Did the cough go away that you were concerned was a tic? Just curious as I felt the sadness in your posts! My poor third child! I totally forgot to give an update about her. I guess it is because she has never been as severe as my son and I am more relaxed about the whole thing. A couple months ago she started her cough up again. It was kind of a cough followed by a panting sound. It was pretty constant for a few days and I called her pediatrician because I was concerned it was asthma. Well I was so mad I could not get in until the end of December. I then called an allergist and got in the next day. So she was tested for allergies and was positive for the typical dust mites, weeds, mold and grass. She was also tested for the common foods since my son was positive for corn. She did not have any food allergies but of course that was just with the scratch test. He prescribed her some Allegra and some sort of nose spray. Her cough cleared up within a couple days. So I guess I am just contributing her cough to allergies. I have not documented when she gets the cough but I believe it is mainly in the spring and fall so I guess it would make sense. The allergist did comment on her having blond hair and blues eyes. He said those were the ones to get allergies. I wonder if it really is more common for them? She does seem to have an eye blinking thing going on. I usually just notice it at church though when she is singing in the Childrens Choir. At this point I am not overly concerned.
