Fructose

I just realized tonight that my daughters vitamins (Rainbow light all natural) are sweetened with Fructose. Does this sound right? Why would they put that in an all natural vitamin? Isn't Fructose BAD? Or is it the amount that is bad.

(I am not confusing it with the corn syrup) I just think I remember reading REALLY bad things about fructose. Seems lately I don't want to eat anything anymore!

I will google now I guess but all your inputs will help as well.

Myrose,

I's kind of funny that you asked that question. When you posted about Topamax, I looked it up. I like to see how different drugs are thought to work. Since I've been trying to piece together the glycan chains with all of their different sugar molecule compositions, Topamax was interesting.

The second link will give you the page on sucrose. edit....opps, I mean fructose. Also, wondering if you are confusing with sucrolos in regards to "really bad."

Topiramate (brand name Topamax) is an anticonvulsant drug

Chemically, topiramate is a sulfamate-substituted monosaccharide, related to fructose, a rather unusual chemical structure for an anticonvulsant
.
