mack5mom
Hey,Guys its me again.Just wondering if any other PANDAS children suffer from paranoid behavior? On top of my daughters germ phobia, now she thinks people are laughing at her all the time. She constantly looks at me and says "its not funny". Not sure but I think she is getting worse. Also the pain in her legs seems to be getting worse. She has her 6 month check up at the cardiologist today,it will be very interesting to see what he says.I have a family member thats married to a chief of staff of a local e.r. and Im gonna contact them and see what his thoughts are and if he knows of anyone that specializes in treatment. Looking over all the posts,I have realized this board is a case study just begging to happen. Thanks. Please pray for us.Im still new to this and sometimes I am desperate for help. But I feel so helpless.
Chemar
Dear Mack5mom the paranoia is probably related to the OCD that most PANDAS kids have as a result of the illness My son doesnt have PANDAS but has Tourette Syndrome, and the OCD aspects have always been hardest for him, way more so than the tics. we used serotonin boosting supplements and cognitive behavioral therapy to help him, and acupuncture always calms him when OCD is up if you dont mind sharing which area you are in, others may know of PANDAS treating docs to suggest

Has anyone tried chiropratic care or theraputic massage? My insurance doesn't cover the massage therapy and our resources are running low but if it could help I will find a way. Calicat
Hi, I have used chiropractic care myself and it has helped me immensely in terms of healing injuries and getting rid of chronic stiffness. I've also taken my 6 year old (with tics, although none are showing lately!) for chiro care, including some NUCCA (based on Chemar's recommendation) which is a gentle, specialized form of chiropractic. I felt there were benefits, but it is a little hard to tell because I was also implementing lots of other things at the same time, such as supplements, getting rid of artificial ingredient in her diet, and buying an air cleaner. But, bottom line, I do feel it has been extremely positive in our general health. And there is a synergy created when these things work together, in my opinion. In your particular situation, with your daughter's symptoms, I think there is the possibility chiro could help quite a bit. You'd have to have a consultation with one to be sure. But the spine is connected to nerves that extend down all the limbs, and it seems to me that your daughter's stiffness could possibly be helped in this way. Hope this helps.
