Pamela Kay
So I finally got the courage to try out a new doctor here, previously I had bad experiences with doctors thinking I am crazy. Anyway, this office specializes in alternative health. When I explained to him my sons symptoms and some of the different things I have tried with him he said he actually thought I was on the right track. I am so excited about that. He actually spent about 1 1/2 hours with us. He agreed that his emotional behavior, tics etc. were probably allergy related. He recommended ds get an antibody assessment which which will cover 88 foods. The cost of that is $169 but insurance may cover some of it. Then he suggested a comprehensive stool analysis. The cost of that is $388. I then mentioned that I thought he may have a leaky gut. He recommended that we start a probiotic and psyllium. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a probiotic? I tried to research psyllium and really did not find much information regarding it. He mentioned when healing the gut the two work good together. He also said that we need to stop giving him enzymes before the stool test as it may interfere. If I stop today do you think by next Tuesday we could do the stool test? He mentioned early next week but I don't want to do it then if there is a chance it is to early. What about the blood test? It is so nice to find a doctor that will help guide me instead of me self diagnosing my son. The best thing is he is a D.O. so hopefully most of his visits will be covered. Chemar
well done Pamela I like natural kefir best as a probiotic it can be flavored with so many good things and made into a smoothie type fruity thing for kids. I use the Lifeway brand from our supermarket psyllium can make some people very gassy/bloated, but many like it we prefer slippery elm bark capsules
travelgirl02
We use Primal Defense as our probiotic and it works great! I've tried others and not had much luck with taste or results. Primal Defense is really good. Local GNC, Whole Foods, or another vitamin or natural health food store should have it.
