CSP
Hi All, I just wanted to let you all know, I found Taurine in a powder form by NOW. (I paid $13.99) Taurine is the first supplement my son's Dr. wanted him to take. She said 500 mg for him, he was 13 and about 85lb at that time. It is 100% pure with no other ingredients. I had tried taurine by Blue Bonnet and he did not do well with that. Started Sat. with the NOW Taurine so far so good. Just putting that out there for those who don't want to do another pill. He just pours it on his tongue and drinks water. He said it does not taste like anything. Maybe a tad like baking soda. I find this helpful because we use the Natural Calm for the Mag. C.P. ilovedogs
Source Naturals also makes a taurine powder that I was thinking of getting. I found it online for $4.74 for 3 oz. It's a 675 mg per 1/4 tsp doseage. I should check locally for the Now stuff so I don't have to pay for shipping. I was thinking I would mix it into juice but it's good to know that there's not much taste! Thanks! Hi All, I just wanted to let you all know, I found Taurine in a powder form by NOW. faith
Just as a note, taurine doesn't mix well in juice, it doesn't dissolve, it's kind of like baby powder, just sits on top, so burying it in apple sauce is much better. Also, is magnesium taurate actually magnesium plus taurine together, or is it a separate amino acid and a little different than giving magnesium and taurine separately? On my bottle of mag taurate is says on the back: "Magnesium Taurate is a scientfically designed amino acid-mineral complex which insures maximal bioavilability of the essential macromineral, magnesium. Magensium is a fully reacted complex and not simply a blend of the two materials." Faith
MARYANN
Hi , My daughter takes glutathiol. The ingredients show 500mg Taurine. So, she takes 1000mg a day. I bought calcium-magnesum with 250mg magnesuim oxide,alpha-ketoglutan,taurine and aspartate in that order. Calcium 500mg. I did not want to get calcuim with just taurine since she already is taking that with the gluthiol. I really was not sure when I bought calcuim-magnesum if this was good or not. Any information on the above calcuim-magnesum? Does that sound alright, any suggestions. thanks Maryann.
Tracey111
I have to share that my son takes 5 1/2 capsules in the AM (including a NASTY tasting B vitamin). I put the powder in one tablespoon (max) of Breyers all natural vanilla ice cream and mix until a yogurt consistancy. It is the ONLY way I could get it into him in the AM. I am trying to watch the sugar intake, so I try to keep it between a teaspoon and tablespoon of ice cream. Also, I would love to hear an answer as to if the taurate is the same as the taurine? Thanks.
