kallik
Are natural flavors a thing to be avoided? The Italian dressing we used had natural flavor listed in the ingredients, and also, "color added" which I figure is a definite "no-no" He's doing his throat clearing tic after eating, usually a dead give-away his food had something in it he's sensitive to. Calicat
I do not know enough about natural flavours, but I do remember someone posting here that SOMETIMES natural flavours can contain small amounts of a form of MSG, which lots of our kids do not seem to tolerate. I find the colour is definitely a no go. (Actually I just ordered some naturally coloured decorator sugars for cookies, which should be here any day. I'm so excited to be able to say YES!! you can eat that coloured cookie. The colours come from beets, tumeric, etc. I'm also getting natural liquid food colours.) Chemar
the term "natural flavors" sets up red flags for us and we dont go near 'em. MSG can be naturally produced as well and so can vanillin, carageenan etc but they are major tic triggers for my son. and yes, anything with "color added" that doesnt declare the source of the coloring is suspect IMHO
