Can Magnesium Supplements affect digestion?

Something I never had thought of, and a neighbor of mine just brought to my attention, can magnesium supplements affect your digestion since it reduces acid in the stomach?

 

My neighbor had sent me a link http://www.ctds.info/magnesium-faq.html#two to read. The reason this came up is he wants to take Bonnie Grimaldi's vitamins too for himself, like my son Daniel is, but he is already taking Prilosec for his current stomach issues. Prilosec has magnesium in it. He does not want to create more problems for himself.

 

I have not found anything else on the internet regarding this, other then the above web-site, so I don't know if this is a concern or if the person who put together the website did not have the right information.

 

All I know is the magnesium has done wonders for my son.

 

Just wondering if anyone has any advice.

the problem I have with that sitre you linked to is there are no credientials ot anything like that and so this is someones OPINION

 

I have not noticed any negative skin reactions to epsom salts...in fact quite the opposite, nor to our balanced calcium:magnesium:zinc supplement

 

I would think that the key here is moderation and doseage

 

as to the neighbor, if they are on prilosec, which is usually given to reduce stomach acid, then they should be careful of adding any supplements without discussing with their doctor

Thank you so much for your quick reply. You literally have been a God send to me. I truly cannot tell you how many posts I have read of yours. You are doing such a service to so many. I can tell you that you have made a real difference for the life of our family with our son Daniel. I know it has to be a big undertaking responding to so many posts but I truly do thank you .
