Pamela Kay
I had a consultation appointment with a Chiropractor who practices A/SERT which is a variation of NAET today. It seemed promising while hokey at the same time. Anyway he said that they use a cold laser along with it. Well when I asked him where they used it he said the brain area. That right there is really hard for me to swallow. The laser is FDA approved but that does not mean as much to me as it should. When I asked him about the differences between A/SERT and NAET he told me they are about the same and many people who use NAET also use the cold laser. Has anyone here who had NAET had their doctor use the cold laser as well? He also said he could also do it without the cold laser but success is better with. I did make an appointment with him for my son though. According to him he is the only one in Northern Michigan who does this sort of thing. The first appointment is just muscle testing to see what he is allergic to and to see if he has any heavy metals.
flower
Just had my first treatment today (Vitamin C mix) and no mention of cold lasers by my doctor ... However, I just did a search and cold laser was mentioned here. http://www.cnmhealth.com/index.php/2006/03...imination-naet/ ("For younger children and those afraid of needles, cold laser is an option in lieu of the acupuncture") FYI
faith
For anyone who knows about NAET - Could I ask how it works as far as treating things you are sensitive to? I mean, if I were to go in there and say I wanted to be treated for blah blah blah, would they just do it? Or is there some testing you first have to do their way? Then do they start treating the sensitivity or allergen one by one in a certain sequence, or can you just do the ones you pick and choose? I think what I'm trying to get at, is do you have do certain things first before you get to the one you are most concerned about, and have to pay for all the other ones too when they may not be so important. It makes me afraid that it will be a way for them to make lots of money off of this? Sorry to make it sound that way, but just want to know before I get into it. Thanks Faith
flower
I do understand your concern. I wonder about the same thing too. I have not read the book ("Say Goodbye to Illness") yet and so I don't know much myself but yes, there seems to be certain allergies/sensitivities you will have to get treated (they seem to call them the 'basics') before you get to the things you want to get treated for. I just got treated for Vitamin C. Next will be Vit. B, then Sugar, then will treat strep. Although I am hoping this will help me, I've read mixed reviews on the web re NAET treatment, so I've decided to not put too much expectation on this thing. If after treating my strep, if it does not help me with my vocal tics and OCD, I don't know whether I will continue or not. Some other thoughts i've been having - if my tics/OCD does not go away after numerous treamtents, even though I am getting treated for sugar, I cannot have much sugar anyway because excessive sugar kills inositol. If inositol gets killed, my OCD gets bad. So even if allergy to sugar is treated, it won't help me much. If NAET works, I will definitely post here. Pamela Kay
I asked the chiropractor here who does A/SERT and he said that they recommend that you get treated in a certain order first as well. There is better results that way. He said that we could just choose which ones we wanted to get treated for though. He told me if we got treated for them all it would be 23 visits at about $45 each. That would be $1035! Totally worth it if it works but I too am skeptical. The only reason I am willing to try it is because on this and other allergy message boards I have read where it has helped. DS is getting tested next Thursday then he is going to give me his recommendation. Testing with this chiropractor by the way is $120.
