patty Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Need all your help. I am wondering if anyone here with tics/TS also has asthma/allergies has indirectly benefited from the tics/TS treatments? My son had asthma since birth and since we have started alternative treatments for his tics, his asthma is gone. My last survey suggested for some, decrease allergies also resulted decrease in tics. Thx! Patty
kkver Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 hi Patty , I have stopped all the astma prevention meds and allergy medcine to my kid form last month. Right now i only give him 2 multivitimins one 250 Mg vitmin C and half tsp fishoil. It's only 40 days so we are keeping our fingers crossed.though couple of times he was hit with allergies but we did't give anything except vitmin C and orange juice. Only one time he ate some different nuts and we saw allegy poping on his legs and face he had to use Benadryl.
bmom Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Patty, I was wondering which alternatives that you are doing that has helped the asthma as my son has that too although very minor. Has it helped with the tics? I know that my son used to wet the bed and since this all began that has completely stopped. I dont know if it is the treatments that has helped, but somewhere and I have searched to try and find it and can not, but I read that sometimes bedwetters are low in magnesium. I was trying to figure out why tics began, wetting stopped. It all is crazy, but I would sure take the wetting back over this.
bmom Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Oh, something else I just thought of. Yesterday I was on a website- I believe it is Allergyfree.com. (unsure) I had done a search about allergy free to order bedding stuff as my son tested positive for dust allergies. It had links to different allergies -dust, asthma, and other stuff and alternative vitamins etc that would help. Interestingly, some of them were B vitamin, fish oil, magnesium, vit c and other things that were suggested as treatments for this.
Cum Passus Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Patty, Every spring my son would sound plugged up. That was all we ever noticed as a possable allergy to something in the spring time. He had NO other allergy systems (watery eyes, itchy throat ect...) He only tested allergic to pecan trees and goldenrod. This spring is the first time he has not sounded plugged up. Also every spring he would be eaten up by bugs for a few weeks. It was like the bugs would come out of winter hibernation and attack my son. We could never find what bug would leave such huge welts on his legs. Well this spring he has had not one bite. Go figure? In the fall he would not sound plugged with the glodenrod, so I would not have ever known he was allergic to it until we tested. I will be very interested to see how things pan out this Aug. ( read the raw milk was to help with allergies too.) He has only been drinking it for 3 months though. C.P.
