Gamma Strep?

Recommended Posts

WE recieved "Bacteriology Culture" (stool analysis) test results for our son which shows Beneficial Flora, Imbalances, and Dysbiotic Flora. Under the Imbalances it shows "Gamma Strep 4+". Does anyone know what this means? There are sooo many things we are sorting through with all of the test results. We currently have a good plan together that seems to be working. This is just something that caught my eye since i've been doing alot of reading about Pandas on this forum. Just wondering if this might relate to that in any way - or if it has anything to do with strep throat at all??

Hi itsme,

I'm just wondering if you found anything on this?

I've seen it posted quite frequently, that this is high on that type of test. I have never known if it could have any of the same effects that group A strep could cause or not. I just know they talk about trying to get the "strep level down." This is mostly discussed on the Yasko forum.

Hi Kim, I spoke with the Dr. yesterday and he said there is no concern with this because we are currently doing alot to strengthen his immune system, and so his body will naturally fight off illnesses much better. Bottom line - it's not a concern at this point. I will keep you posted if anything else turns up.

itsme,

Again, thank you for this info. I think it's really important to many here. Whether you have a child with environmental allergies, repeated infections, food sensitivities etc. understanding some of the info contained on this page, I think is really important.

Since I have a particular interest in immunizations, the people who are already high in a TH2 type response, could be important too(aluminum is known to prompt a TH2 response).

I know this is not the test that you had. It was just one from Genova's site that goes into some good detail about the immune system amongst other things.

Hi Kim,

Thanks so much for all of the valuable info. You, along with many others on here are truely wonderful people. And i don't think it can be said enough. You freely volunteer your time, efforts and energy to help others - A sincere THANK YOU. I have read the info and it corelates to the path we are on.... that is strengthening his immune. hopefully when he gets to be 8, 9 and 10 yrs old he will have a very strong system with minimum to no tics.

Thanks again.

Kim & Itsme,

Have either of you found any information regarding Gamma Strep? Gamma Strep showed up on my CDSA test through Doctor's Data under imbalances also as a 4+. I also had Klebsiella oxytoca show up as a 1+. By the way my ASO was within the reference range at 40.9 & the reference range is 0-200.

Strengthing my sons immune system seems to be a biggie for me as he currently has strep-that is my main focus. Can you please tell me what you are doing specifically to strengthen your sons immune system? supplements, alternative treatment, etc. Thanks so much.

Hi Carolyn,

I really don't know what gamma strep is, my environmental dr said maybe it will correct itself with everything else we are doing. Again, i don't know if this indicates he has strep stuff in his system - i know great termonology, right

I'll keep you posted with any new info on it.
