Acupuncture and Habit reversal therapy

My son was diagnose with Tourette's today. I have already read your book and I was not surprised with his diagnosis.

 

The medical neurologist recommended Acupuncture and Habit reversal. I am wondering if anyone has had success with either of these therapy's and would you recommend them?

my son had great success with acupuncture, tho be sure to select a qualified clinical acupuncture therapist, preferably who has expeirence with TS

 

We preferred cognitive behavioral therapy and did not do any habit reversal therapy. Others here may have experience with it.

imo tics are not "habits" so I struggle with the terminology, though I know the technique has been refined to incorporate helping with the involuntary nature of TS tics.
