Liver function tests

Can anyone share how frequently you test liver function (cmp panel), especially when on long te antibiotics? I know we tested very frequently when on rifampin but are now on augmentin and looking for a happy medium to avoid frequent blood draws.

I'm curios too, dd is on rifampin we are doing every four weeks

When we were on Rifampin, they tested every week for 2 weeks, then every 2 weeks, then I think once a month. I think there is a published protocol for rifampin in particular. Couldn't find one for Augmentin.

Every 8-12 weeks. When my daughter was having a lot of "out of range" labs, there were drawing them monthly.

We tested monthly. DD11 was only out of range once, at the beginning of her treatment. We started using milk thistle and never had another problem.

ds was tested every month as his liver enzymes were elevated and continued to go higher for almost 2 yrs. High dose steroids over a month finally lowered them, but Dr was diligent about checking.
