quan_daniel
This is exactly what happened to my 2 children..no breast feeding.. having difficulty breastfeeding frustrated my wife greatly.. sadly the drug also affected the children. http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/13054.html The team found that mothers who decide to have an epidural in order to relieve labor pains have a greater chance of problems in the first week after birth and may be more likely to stop breastfeeding earlier than usual. They are also now of the opinion that the chemicals, bupivacaine and fentanyl, which is an opioid, present in epidurals may have an adverse affect on the unborn babies. They suggest that some of the drugs used enter the bloodstream and cross into the placenta to reach the fetus. They can affect the unborn infants' brains and make them over sleepy and less disposed towards breast-feeding.

quan_daniel
Kim, Yes, we all agreed our gut is our second nervous system. I am so glad the last 2 months I have up my child's probiotic from morning to morning and night before the fall/flu season started. Knock on wood..both allergy/flu season is almost over til february. I keep on reading how probiotic has a positive impact on our immune system. I have to say probiotic is one of the major ingredient in improving my child's overall health. I have also read how someone try to cure autism via probiotic. What we eat is what we are. Happy holiday
hudsonsmom
I'm sure there are studies that show this problem. I actually did have an epideral during the birth of my son, and exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months, now he is 18 months old and I am still breastfeeding him during the night wakings. We didn't have any problems during the first few weeks with nursing at all. Only problems began when he started to get teeth
