Anyone with food allergies notice that a certain food combination can cause symptoms whereas if you were to eat the food combination individually, it does not have an affect?

For example Mac 'N Cheeze consist of "wheat/gluten" & "dairy".

Symptoms occurred when eating Mac 'N Cheeze. But no symptoms if eat "Wheat/gluten" pasta and "dairy" alone.

When speaking of food allergies one also has to consider the tolerance level. My son can handle the reduced sugar level in his one carb tomato ketchup but he can not handle the regular sugar level in "normal ketchup". It is a small difference from 1g to 4g but it seems to make a big difference with him. We are also lucky that he doesn't uses that much ketchup to add taste. Just small dips where I would pour the stuff on my own food.

You also have to wonder about binders in food. Many foods today have added stuff in them which in some cases to not have to be listed upon the product.

In our case, that is why when we buy 100% Beef hot dogs it has to say gluten, sugar and nitrate free.

I have read in Randolph Theron's book on allergies that if you were to go off a food rotation diet, for example, it is always better to make that meal about one food item, if possible, or as few different ingredients as possible. I think the idea was that when your body is dealing with some allergen it may be better able to tolerate it if that is the only thing being digested at that time, but that may just be the impression I came away with.
