Food to eat for 6 yr old

HI All...

My son was just diagnosed with tourettes. The Neurologist wanted to put him on Meds right away. I want to try this naturally. And so much help here, thanks to all of you.

This is all very new to me. He is 6 years old and I trying to keep him on organic foods. Staying away from the trigger food: dairy, wheat, he tested positive on being allergic to eggs and peanuts. So there isn't really much left for us to eat. Does anyone have any ideas on what to feed a 6 year old.

thanks

Hi pet

if he isnt allergic to or sensitive to wheat and dairy he should be able to safely eat those. They are only triggers for people who react to them. My son can eat them with no problems

there are some very good threads in the back pages of the forum on ideas for foods for allergic kids.

I will try to bump them up when I return

Hi petb,

Beyond meats, fruits, and veggies there's lots of good mixes for foods free of wheat, dairy, eggs, and peanuts. I like a lot of Miss Roben's mixes. The Mock Graham Cracker Mix, Soft Pretzel Mix, & Tortilla Mix

Sugar-Free Soft & Chewy Chocolate Fudge Candy From Gimbal's is fairly good.

Namaste Blondie Mix & also their Brownie Mix are really good, Ener-G Foods Wylde Pretzels are fairly good.

White Rice Spaghetti: from Tinkyada is really good. Also I really like Quinoa pasta.

I like cooking with Coconut Oil (Butter) from Omega Nutrition, Sunflower oil, and olive oil. I also like using potato, rice, and other flours.

I like almond, Dari Free, and rice milk.

There's popcorn.

I found a recipe online for gluten/dairy free corn dogs that are really good.

Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Homemade Wonderful Bread mix is also excellent.

Ian's chicken nuggets and fries are really good (make sure to get the ones that say their Gluten free, Dairy Free, No nuts, etc. as they make both).

Arrowhead Mills Gluten Free Pancake & Gluten Free Baking Mix is great.

I hope that helps you out some. Most of those can be found at Whole Foods, Wild Oats, or Allergygrocer.com

I was very oral hypersensitive and still am somewhat, but it took me a whole year to transition to those foods. I'm not for sure if your son is this way, but after a while it isn't so bad. I'm now gluten/wheat/dairy/soy free, but a year ago this wasn't possible as my diet consisted of meat, green beans, corn, potatoes, and apples, and it got pretty old eating just these foods. I now have enough food variety that I don't have to eat the same food over for atleast four days.
