Missmom Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 Can anybody tell me the best way to search this forum? When I try to enter words like tic, or lab work, or many other small words it will not let me search saying the words must be longer. Am i doing something wrong or is there a better way to search? What I have been trying to find out is if any of you have had any success with tic tamer or any of the other natural tic relief formulas. My ds had tics which went away while on full dose antibiotics now he is just taking prophylactic daily keflex and the tics seem to be returning at a milder rate. Just trying to figure out what to do until we have our apt. With a specialist in July. The pedi who originally diagnosed my son has pretty much written us off at this point and just wants to pass us off to the specialist. I would like to read past posts about tic relief but can't search it. Thanks for your help.
Fixit Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 yes sometimes it seems a little difficult to get the system to process not sure if it is glitch or user error or both try puting "helped tics" try changing the words. i believe you would want to stay more towards the pans site...but the ts section might have some good things to help in regards to tics and natural helpers in the meantime... you might want to try to keep up the fight with thing like Oregono oil..Ole...monolaurin...and maybe some antiinflammatories like turmeric...just a couple thoughts.. Good luck!
PowPow Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 Pandas psych recommended magnesium for tics to us.
Missmom Posted May 2, 2012 Author Report Posted May 2, 2012 Pandas psych recommended magnesium for tics to us. Do you supplement with magnesium? If so how much? My ds weighs 95 lbs. I bought some sunflower seeds and have been encouraging him to eat them because they are high in mag. But can't get him to eat them regularly. Go figure. He says he likes them.

Good luck! Thanks, I just wondered if I was doing something wrong.. I have not had much success using the search engine on this forum. Someone else said they had success with folic acid so I may look into that as well. Edited May 2, 2012 by Missmom
Mayzoo Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 Each word you try to search needs to be 4 or more letters long or you will get this error: "One or all of your search keywords were below 4 characters....." I tried to search OLE, and found I had to search Olive leaf extract instead. Tics should be fine by itself, but tic would not be. You have to be creative .

trggirl Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 Tampicc, that's brilliant! Thanks for sharing. The three letter limit can be very frustrating.
Missmom Posted May 3, 2012 Author Report Posted May 3, 2012 Yes, the problem with the small words drives me crazy in searching, and here's how I get around it. I use google. I type "Pandas acn" and then any words I want into the google search bar of my browser. It works really well. examples: "Pandas ACN tics" "Pandas acn augmentin" "Pandas acn ivig" "PANDAS acn methylation" . . . or whatever. Works for me everytime. Great suggestion.... Thanks I will use google. It has been very frustrating for me as well.
