Hi everyone! We are leaving for London for one week and I'm hoping to find a health food store along the lines of Whole Foods or Lassens - is there such a thing there? If anyone knows could you please let me know.

He' allergic to gluten, soy, corn, dairy, and bananas - so even though I order the gluten free meal on the plane never know if they're going to add other allergens. . . so I usually bring a whole host of foods on the plane. I'm a little worried about being able to do that given the situation that's going on. They say you just can't bring liquids or gels - so I'm hoping. Got a prescription from his doctor listing the foods he has to eat and bringing those. I'm just hoping that they don't use that Dansani water as it contains potassium chloride and it makes him tic like crazy - it sucks when even the bottled water isn't safe. Planes are tough on him in any case because of all the chemicals they use to clean the interior. We flew to Rhode Island recently and within two minutes of sitting down he started up (and he hadn't ticced for ages before this). Coming home the plane was pretty good but ten minutes into the flight we both all of a sudden smelled some sort of air freshener scent coming though - both of us grabbed our noses at the same time - it was awful! And after that the tics! Oh well, it's not horrible and we definitely wouldn't let that stop us!

Thanks,

Giselle

Giselle,

I think it would be too late to order enzyme for your trip.

For more than a year, everywhere we go we carry it.

It helps but it can not be guarded against potassium in water or bannana.

Sigh..tics are part of life..as long as the child is not hurt physically or mentally..

It is life. We try our best as parents to make them healthier that is all.

It is hard to avoid living life, even it means flying...

Anyway going to London in this time of crisis is terrible with all the hassels at the airport.

Good luck..

I am sure as your child gets older his immune system will mature and probably able to tolerate more..

Hi Giselle

I looooooooooooooooooove London. Lived there for many years :P

Here is an organic food directory that can maybe help you...

http://www.infolondon.ukf.net/organic/

we used to also buy a LOT of our whole food stuff from Neals Yard in Covent Garden ( I studied/worked at Kings College London on the Strand, WC2)

They may have branches in other parts now.

If you are on the King's Road in Chelsea and see a charming side street called Glebe Place, say "Hi" from me....that is where I lived for some time!

oh you are making me so nostalgic! London is quite one of my favourite places in all the world <_<

Anyway, although I am sure the airports are no fun at present with all the extra security...yet I hope it all goes smoothly for you and that you have a wonderful visit.
