Does anyone recommend getting a hair analysis done? I am having trouble getting support or information due to where we live, this forum is my greatest asset. The woman who runs the health food store in the next town over has told me I should get a hair analysis done on my son, however I have heard mixed reviews about it.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated, I'm feeling a bit lost!!

Also for some reason I can't reply to private messages to this or emailing is the only way I can reply.

We found hair analysis pretty accurate. After we had it done, one of the doctors wanted verification on a few things and we really were amazed how close the blood test results were to those of the hair analysis

Hi Kristen

I had the hair Allergy test done because it wasn't invasive at all, wasn't sure what to think of it all but took Wheat, Sugar and eggs straight out of my sons diet and like i mentioned before after 2 days his Tics were 95% / 97% better...after a couple of weeks we hardly see any Tics, we do still have then (think we tend to have a few when he is very tired or over excited) but compared to what he was like, it's crazy amazing! he was ticcing like 10 times a min before...it was so hard to watch and was breaking my heart. So yes `for us the hair allergy test worked.

Hi Kristen,

I agree with all the other postings. It confirmed what we already suspected (gluten, dairy) and added a few surprises: pineapple, mushrooms, pickles among the culprits. I would recommend it.

Thanks everyone. We can't really afford to do any of the other testing, so I"m hoping hair analysis will point us in a good direction an d make the elimination diet much easier for us!
