Seriousy? He picks today to pull this crap? (I know it's not really that way, but jeez)

I tried to wake him up at 9:30am - let him sleep in and stay home from school instead of taking a half day. Told him he needed to wake up, take meds, take dog out and he can lay back down for a while if he wanted to. He starts screaming at me to get out of his room and he's not getting up and he doesn't care about his meds or the dog and to LEAVE, LEAVE. Kicking his legs around on his bed, flailing his blanket all over like a nut. I picked up an empty bag of potato chips on his floor in the middle of all of this (which I don't even know where they came from, I didn't buy them) and he freaks out about me touching things and KICKS ME from his bed in the side, very close to where I just had surgery. I tell him calmly that he better watch where he throws his feet and he tells me that if I just get out I don't have to worry about it. Then tells me he isn't going to the doctor and he doesn't care and he's not doing anything I want him to do and if I don't get out of his room I'm going to really be unhappy because then I'll have to deal with more of his crap...not exact words but told me if i don't leave him alone and do what he wants he basically is going to make me miserable.

So, will we even make it? Who knows. I'm so over this ######!

Sounds like my DS15 a year ago. It is so different now after a year of treatment with Dr. B. Best wishes -

Really? You've made a lot of progress in a year, and your son started when he was 14 then, too?

Oh you give me hope!!

May I ask what you have seen the most success with?

I don't know if someone else has already made this suggestion, but video of these episodes helps. Dr. B will take your word always, but having documented tape of these episodes is never a bad idea; video of completely normal and completely nuts is always great for putting a picture to the words you use to describe what is going on.

Good luck today. Bribe? Have your own temper tantrum? IDK, just get him there. You'll get there.

Ugh, I can relate. My daughter must be his long lost twin. I am taking her to pedi today. Woke with sore throat (doesnt look too bad) and another headache. I know she doesnt feel well because she hates missing school.

So at least she will get swabbed. Maybe your kiddo shoukd get swabbed too? Its possible to still get strep on augmentin. Its pretty darn hard but possible.

I woud lug his butt there no matter what. It actually would be good for the dr to see how he acts. Best wishes, let us know how it goes. also I am happy to share my email or # . I feel like our kids are soooo similar.

Are you seeing dr b or a PA? I think we see the PA on mon.

I have videoed him before and will do that again today if he continues. I'm locked in my office right now and he's parked himself outside my office door to harrass me through the door. It's exhausting. He didn't want to get up, but now he has no problem sitting on the floor outside my office.

We are seeing the PA, but i was assured Dr. B. would be available if we need him. Um, yeah, we need him. I have to be honest, I was not too impressed with that.

We will see...if we get there...and we will see what happens while there. LOL

I'll pm you my email, too!

Oh and he'll straighten right up in front of the doctor. The only thing he absolutely can not help himself from doing is correcting me. At least 5 times he will correct me when I explain his symptoms "No, i don't". "That's not why" etc.

Yeah, I know what you mean about seeing a PA. I am driving 4 hours to see a PA? My hubby was mad but then again he doesnt know what a pa is! I would love to hear anyones experience with the PA not to steal your thread. I have to believe they know what they are doing....

We haven't seen a PA there yet but we have talked to one. How come your follow ups are not with Dr. B? We have been 3 times and all have been with him.

Fightingmom good luck! I hope your appt goes well. I know how you feel about Dr.b. I felt like that after our first visit as well... But its that he has a heavy workload. I don't think he means to send off the rushed like like feeling, but it happens. But I feel as if he knows his stuff tremendously and I really trust him as one of my daughters doctors. He will answer all of your questions. Just have them all written down.

And I hope you can make it to one of our PANDAS parents meetings soon :)

That's the thing, I have faith in him. We've only seen him once. I think we should be seeing him for the follow up and discuss all labs. I'm not thrilled with this, but what else do I have? My monday classes will be over in 3-4 weeks, then I'm hoping to get to a parents meeting! Thanks for the reminder!

Is dr B the one in Ct?

the panda dr?

if the panda dr...he uses a PA now?

We saw him initially, our follow up appt is scheduled with his PA - he is there in the office and I'm assured he will be "available" but I still don't care for it...

Did Dr. B tell you to make it with the PA?

As for the meeting we have to use a new location and the days may have changed. When we know our next meeting I will let you know.

What? Wait....you're not having the initial consult with the PA are you?

IMO, they are much more reserved and end up running everything by him anyway. It is a little annoying to want brief lab results like 1-2, not 20 and the nurses tell you to make an appt with the PA (that's their policy.) I'm sorry, but I'm not paying $125 for "15 minutes" with a PA. I plan on discussing this with him next visit. He's doing labs in-house, I don't get a sent copy, I don't get phoned results and if I want to know what they are I need to make an appt with a PA at the MD price? Oh, and I got a bill for $48 difference between what my insurance paid and what their lab charged. Doctors should be well paid, but that a la carte feeling annoys me. I'm paying for the labs, I want a copy sent to me, then I'll make an appt if I have questions. grrrr

It's been awhile, I'm sure they are learning as they go just like everyone else.
