MichaelTampa Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 I go to doctor. i have an appointment with LLMD. Is there anyway to get the Igenix test done prior to visit so that I have the results the day of my doctors visit? Thanks IGeneX requires and MD to sign for it. It doesn't need to be an LLMD, but an MD, so, you can get that done if you know an MD who is willing to sign the test requisition for it. IGeneX has their own test requisition you can get from their website. Be aware there is not just one test, so you and/or this MD would have to decide what test(s) you want. Also, you'll need to find some place to draw for the test and ship it to IGeneX. I think in some instances people have managed to get this done by LabCorp/Quest, perhaps with other LabCorp/Quest labs also being done at the same time, but not all such labs will do it. I went to an independent lab named Granite Labs that in my locality does blood draws for $15 and then send it off to LabCorp or Quest or Whoever (in that case IGeneX). So, it can be done, I imagine a number of us here have done that, although it is a bit of effort as you can see.
aidansmom Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Also, if you have another MD sign for it, make sure that that Dr's office will give you full copy of the results when they come in. IGenex will not send the results to the patient - only to the MD who signed for it. You will want to take the full results that show which bands are positive to the LLMD
BoyIowa Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Our first appointment with the LLMD was a couple months out. He ordered the test before we saw him, had confirmation of Lyme and on antibiotics from our pediatrician (at the recommendation of the LLMD) prior to our appointment. Not sure if all LLMDs work that way, but ours did.
momcap Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 We did ours ahead of time. I ordered the test kit directly from Igenex by emailing them on their website. I took it to our naturopath, who signed the forms and did the blood draw. It cost me more money that way, but I had the results before we got to the LLMD.
