Panda Parent Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 I have a son that was diagnosed with PANDAS at the early stages of the disorder. He was put on an antibiotic almost immediately so we really have not seen how bad the disorder can get. Due to this it is hard to gauge if he is doing well relative to others or if we should be even more proactive than we are because he can expect to do better than he currently is. All of his symptoms tend to be mild most of the time with the exception of the winter season when they can progress for 2-4 weeks. Below are generally what his symtoms are currently which is as abd as we have seen: 1- Tic eye movement 2- Compulsions - rubbing pants, pushing chin into hand, & making a clearing of the throat sound 3- Mild seperation anxiety 4- Defiance Any feedback would be really appreciated.

1tiredmama Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Welcome! I'm sorry that, as a newbie myself, I do not have an answer for you. I'm sure others will be along soon. I just wanted to say hello.
Ozimum Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 (edited) Is your son currently on an antibiotic? In my son's case, as soon as symptoms start to ramp up we hit it hard and fast with an antibiotic. We are also working at strengthening his immune system with a DAN! doctor and a naturopath, having found vitamin and mineral deficiencies and leaky gut. We're also doing a gut healing diet to support him. He's doing great. It's important to find a team of medical practitioners who are supportive. Edit for pesky typos...
