MamaOnAMission Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 (edited) I was diagnosed with lyme from an allergist, Dr. B. he is treating me with doxy. he wants me to see a lyme specialist. my regular internets said he will treat me. can u tell me if this is a good idea? i have been on doxy for about 3 months. my guess is i need a lyme speciaist but thought i would ask ur opinion. SSS Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 Yes, my opinion would be to get a Lyme specialist. They can accurately test/diagnosis if you have any co-infections, and they will know how to treat to get you well. Regular Dr.s or internists don't have the knowledge. I would get a copy of testing you did with this Dr. B and go to a Lyme specialist like he recommends. Wish you well.
momaine Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 me three. THe LLMD will know what combination of drugs will most likely get you well. They will try others if the ones you are taking don't work. They will look for and treat co-infections that you may not even know you have. Best of luck Angela ~ getting close to 100% well from Lyme and Bartonella.
