philamom Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 For those of you dealing with Mycoplasma, or chronic Mycoplasma, due you see nausea or stomach pain as an issue? Can you have this without coughing symptoms?
Dedee Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 My daughter had constant complaints of stomach pain. Actually during all flares she goes back to the stomach pain. Our Nurse Practitioner says it is an inflammatory reaction in the gut as well as the brain that occures during these flare ups. Probably something to that. Usually as my daughter's psych issues go away, so does the complaints of stomach ache. We even had an upper GI study done at one point because she complained so often. But everything was normal. I think stomach ache is a common symptom in PANS patients. Dedee
tpotter Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 For those of you dealing with Mycoplasma, or chronic Mycoplasma, due you see nausea or stomach pain as an issue? Can you have this without coughing symptoms? I haven't had stomach ache, but this last time (which is still going on), I've had a terrible flareup to my "pseudo" gallbladder (I had it removed about 15 years ago, but the ducts are still there.) I keep thinking I should get over to a gastroenterologist, because the pain is non-stop (I've been using a lot of ibuprofin.) The pain started when I got sick about 3 weeks ago, but I figured it was either from the infection or from a new abx that I was put on. But, this is the first time I've had pain like this, and I'm not certain it's from the mycoP. I just found out yesterday (got the blood work back), that I definitely was having a flareup of mycoP again. I don't know if that answers your questions, but DS does get chronic stomach aches and nausea when he has strep (one of the symptoms that we know he is fighting strep again.)
