I have to bring my daughter in for a blood draw in the next two weeks. We recently ran the usual stuff (CBC,CMP,exc) and some labs for lupus, but one of them was not done (darn these labs).

I would like to explore the Methylation process some more. Can anyone recommend some blood tests from Quest that I can have our local doc order. I would like to take advantage of another blood draw. I know MTHFR is one. What else?

Thank you!

I've been hearing a lot lately about this topic. I watched a Klinghart video last weekend and he talked about the KPu urine test which has something to do with inability to detox. My aunt just had a test from genova diagnostics called detoxigenomic and it tells you if you have any genetic blocks to detox. She has cancer and her test said she is missing two out of three markers needed for detox-so toxins are not dumped properly. Then my chiropractor had us do a hair test to test essential elements (like copper magnesium etc) through ARL. They recommend supplements that address imbalances in element ratios and once you get balanced apparently you start dumping toxins. Common theme lately in Lyme autism and cancer- inability to detox will make you sick. Those r the test I have heard about related to detox. I've heard great things about the Genova diagnostics detox test. It seems to me that all of these tests are related to the same issue but I don't know enough about KPu or genetic detox issues to be sure.

Thank you!

So far, we've only done MTHFR due to family history tied to this gene. Yasko has a whole bunch - 20 something - but not knowing your family history or DDs particulars, it's hard to say which ones might be worth looking at. Since I know the liver and detox is on your radar, this might help - - it's a powerpoint presentation by Dr Usman - another big name in ASD/detox issues.

Usman specifically mentions COMT, MTHFr, TCII, MTR. Maybe google those and see if any seem more appropriate than the others...the powerpoint presentation is pretty interesting.

We're just starting down this road and our DAN ordered MTHFR, Vit A, Vit B12, T3 free, T4 free, Folate, Lipids, some other special tests I don;t have back yet but can PM to you when I get them, stool and urine. I can say that we are seeing results after two weeks of adding in vitamins, omega 3's and deplin, diflucan, and D3. We are starting very small doses, titrating up, keeping journal and going GFDF. I'm ready to stand on my head and spin in cirlcles for 3 days if it will help - and hold. Know what I mean? Best of luck.......from all I've read and heard, this can be key in these kids. Our DAN healed her daughter! That's my goal for my kids!
